What are your flower girls carrying?

noname, 5 July, 2009 at 21:14 Posted on Planning 0 11

My 2.5 year old is going to be a flower girl in August and the bride was asking me what she would carry. Depending on her mood she could have a wand, a bag, a little posy etc. Anyone have suggestions or pictures to share? TIA

How about a pomander or a wrist corsage (she could even have a felt flower wrist corsage, then she could keep it forever!) ?!?

    Hope that these help.

There isn't a colour scheme as such as it's a small wedding and my little one is wearing ivory but orange gerberas are going to feature in the bouquet

Mine will be 8 and I'm just having a single rose...love that pomander with the pearls though so that might be a contender ?

    Heya,

When I was 3 I was a flower girl, and if I remember rightly, I held a hool-a-hoop type thing, obviously decorated in their wedding colours iykwim?! Sorry I can't scan pics or find anything like it on google!

Pomanders are certainly back in fashion again although smaller children tend to pick at the flowers because they look pretty! For a child around that age, I don't think you can beat a soft teddy to carry. This is something that they will love to hold and won't damage easily. You can get wedding teddies but be careful of small bits that may come off that they may put in their mouth. Or just pop a satin bow round his neck to make him look proper smart for the ceremony!

My bridesmaids (11 and 14) are having pommanders, just like the ones Oohla found! Cheers Oohla! I asked for pearls instead of ribbon and they will hopefully be longish....and are cream peonies....

Thanks for all the fab ideas. She's quite an 'old' two so I think she would leave a pomander alone
