What are your Hitched pet peeves?

Just a bit of light hearted fun to see me through the rest of the day. What annoys you on Hitched? I'll start... 1) People asking for an opinion then getting upset when they get some. 2) People who start loads of threads, rarely go back to them to thank the contributors and very rarely comment on...

Threads that make you paranoid that you may be doing everything wrong, lol!

Agree about the GL threads, especially when I've just posted something and it gets lost on the 2nd page before anyone reads it! Couldn't there be a separate forum just for GL threads?

Can't the link just be copied and pasted if the hyperlink doesn't work for some reason?

True! Conversely, if posting from a phone you can't add the hyperlink I don't think.

Ah probably not. Is it possible to copy and paste a link full stop from a phone? (even if the link doesn't actually work?) I can't fathom out how! (I have an iphone). I also can't figure out how to post images from my phone...another pet peeve, but I think that's more to do with my technical ability than Hitched!

    Site issues.

Threads with the title along the lines of 'I can't believe it' so we have to go in and read what they put.

    Good Luck threads disrupting things.

Someone asking about a service and the only people to respond are suppliers saying they are available on their day with no real interest in the post itself. It comes across as desperate. We're allowed here as an advisory role not to canvas, I feel it scares people away.

The link thing bugs the hell out of me. I use my iPod for posting quite a lot and I swear it's worked a couple of times so I think it's just being narky and doing what it wants. Also not being able to figure out how to flash from it. It might be me, or Apple, but surely Hitched can make it so you can just copy and paste instead.

The photo bucket app thing is ok once you get used to it.

We need a hitched forum app, that's what we need!

People who don't read the previous posts before posting their answer. For example "Where can I get such and such from?" and you get ten answers saying "Try Matalan, Ikea, BHS"

Plus all the other stuff already mentioned.. especially text talk and lack of paragraphs!

This one also can be irritating too... "I've enjoyed planning my wedding SO much that I've decided to become a wedding planner!" I've seen this umpteen times on Hitched over the years and strangely enough, you never see any of them advertising their businesses - wonder why?

Something that annoys me is that good luck threads block up the front pages and then disappear never to be seen again. And other people also get annoyed with good luck threads blocking up the front page and yet whenever anyone mentions a separate sub-forum the idea gets shot down.

Also too many intials of sayings....for example

    H2B I get - Husband to be

WWYD - took me ages to work out this was What would you do

    IKWYM - Huh?

I'm pretty much lost after the first two...I take ages working out what people mean. And yes that could just mean I'm a bit slow on the uptake!

Just read the Welcome to Wedding Planning sticky thread that's always at the top of the page - everything is in there: https://www.hitched.co.uk/chat/forums/t/246443.aspx

    1. In the wedding planning people's priorities and perception of reality goes to sh!t - "I wanted Ivory invites but they sent me off white now everything is ruined"

    2. The threads that consist something along the lines of - "Look at this stupid thing my man has said or done, the stupid typical man, how stupid" really get me 'effed off.

    3. When people slag off people they don't know. This is usaully In the case of a cheating partner or an ex that someone is posting about and total strangers feel its fine to call the 'other woman' a tramp or whatever or when people slag off their children's fathers. I get the need to vent but as someone whose life was made hell by a bitter ex I always try to see both sides of the story and sometimes it just doesn't sit right with me.

    ..to name a few.

Sorry ? I'm definitely guilty of this, but I am already trying to quit. I do it with everything. When you get those spammy texts that say text STOP to this number, I always text 'STOP x'. If me and OH are arguing over texts I always have to delete my x's before I send it ha ha.

I think i wrote that a bit wonky. The Patterdale is the hyper one. The Heinz is my little princess. Good as gold. Do you get people asking if your Patt is a lab?? People always think he's just a skinny lab pup ?

I know. Ridiculous isn't it. Its rare I text anybody that I wouldn't purposely do it to anyway so I think it's just force of habit. I'm not too bad on the computer, but usually post on here from my iPod so it's just like texting.

When people think there wedding is totally ruined because of the tiniest little unimportant thing, like someone said the colour of card. Really if this is the 'worst' thing to happen in your life you're in for a shock.

Good Luck Threads are good, nice to read but its annoying when they are for people that you never see on here, I was missed and never had one but still managing to function ? phhhewwww

I'm a total grammar nazi, but I just moan about it to myself on here. My friends on FB get corrected all the time though, except I do allow for auto-correct being a presumptuous ass.

One of my grammar peeves is when be people get 'John and I' and 'me and John' mixed up.
