What are your Hubby2b doing the night/day before?

aimzxx, 8 January, 2013 at 12:05 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hello!

Just wondered what everyones OH was upto the night before?

My OH suggested Go Karting with his family but I said not really feeling that because we'll have loads to do and I don't really want any risk of graises!

He's waking up at our home and I'm at the venue, but what do most men do?

I'd prefer if people didnt come to our house because I want it kept clean as we go on the Honeymoon straight after the wedding (anal I know! Sorry!) x

Me and my H spent the day together, it was lovely. We went to the venue and set up a table so they knew how to do the others on the day, had a pub lunch. then in the evening we went to the pub for a couple of drinks with his BM, usher and my family that had travelled down. It wasn't a busy day at all, really relaxed and nice

We spent the morning together at our home but then went our separate ways - me to a hotel where I was staying with my parents and sister and him to another hotel where he was staying with his mum and her friend.

We both had lovely days with out families - mine was lunch with family and then mum, sis and I had out nails done at a posh spa. OH had lunch with his mum and then dinner at a friends house.

I had done all that needed to be done at our venue the previous day so the day before the wedding was totally relaxing. If my OH suggested Go Karting the day before the wedding I'm not sure if I'd have laughed or cried! I'd say don't make any big plans as you might need the day to just chill and sort any last minute things

    Thank you :-)

I have a Champagne cream tea booked at the venue for me and the girlies...Maybe I could ask my dad to host a BBQ (weather dependant) or arrange for everyone to have a nice lunch together??? I just don't want people to feel i'm asking them to spend more money!!

    Champagne cream tea sounds perfect!

Do you have lots of people coming from far away to the wedding? or are most people fairly local? If it's local people then I'd say just leave them to their own devices! If people have travelled for the ocassion then yes it's a nice touch to put something on for them but I wouldn't stress too much about it. Perhaps just some information telling them about the local area and things they might be interested in doing/nice pubs etc.

Not sure about the night before but the day before we're having the parents-meet-parents thing - terrified!

We are marrying abroad, we plan to have a meal with all of our guests so that people who don't know everyone else and the two families can get to know each other as they'll be spending the weekend all together.

Then OH, his dad and brothers will be staying at a nearby hotel for the night before the wedding.

Thank you all for your responses....

I'm very envious with those getting married abroad :-)

So on the suggestions abouve I have decided to book a meal with those who are travelling from far away which works out at 9 adults (mainly grandparents which is nice)

We will also offer to pay for the meal since its our grandparents....I guess the only problem is if the likes of siblings an parents want to come we can't really stretch to feeding everyone else...I told my mum and she said its an unnessersay expense but I think its a nice idea :-)

It is our little boys first birthday the day before so I can imagine that our day will involve a lot of non-wedding things! A tea party at our reception hotel for families to meet and then he is heading home with our son and I am staying at the hotel Smiley smile

I like the sound of getting my nails done. Oh will be in work, and I'm staying at a hotel the night before
