I am still looking for my cake. I was looking at M&S cakes but they seem very small for the numbers we are having. I'm going to have 2 x 3 tired cakes. 1 will be chocolate & the other will be fruit with a sponge tier. I'm having a pink roses theme so will be looking to have the cakes follow this.

When my sister was having her wedding 3 yrs ago she had an M&S cake it came in 2 weeks before and the staff dropped 2 of the 3 tiers and it had massive cracks in them. We went to pick it up the day before and they hadnt exchanged it or anything M&S then had to pay for a cake decorator to make a 3 tier cake overnight for the wedding the next day.... Expensive mistake but gave me a career path lol x

I do love this one too though

Massive pics ladies, sorry. How do I make them smaller, what's a good size?

I had 3 tiers made into luggage for our wedding cake topped with cute bears ?

The bottom tier was fruit, the middle was jam sponge with the top tier chocolate cake - and the one I didn't get one single piece of lol thanks to my lovely children who ate it all during our honeymoon!

We didn't have a cake but if we did it would have to be a gooey, chocolatey creation with lashings of chocolate buttercream covered in proper chocolate Dairy Milk not that horrible tasteless suff that you get on cakes) Yummy!

I am having a 4 tier cake, stacked with different flavours for the top 2 tiers.

We also have a seperate sponge and chocolate cutting cake and are getting mini-replica's made for our bridesmaids who seem to have an obession about cakes meaning candles to blow out - we don't want that to happen so they are having their own!

We're having a stepped 3 tier cake with tartan ribbon around the tiers. We're having fruitcake, vanilla sponge and chocolate sponge as the flavours.

This is mine including the caricature B&G on top of us though, obviously... I do want the hearts to be a little more "purple" though as they do look brownish in the pics...

Not decided yet but it won't be too fancy - it's just an incidental detail in the day really and I don't see the point in spending hundreds of pounds on them.

If it was up to me I'd just get half a dozen trays of Krispy Kreme in.

Mine is 4 tier - 14", 12", 10" & 8". Its ivory / white and around the base of each tier is an inch of ribbon the same colour of my bridesmaids and then a strand of diamante band. The top has a swarovski crystal cake topper of our 2 initials with a double heart instead of a '&'. We are having fake 14"tier, chocolate 12", madeira 10" and lemon 8".

Our topper & banding cost us £126.00 and the cake is £320.00 so thats roungly £450.00.

Im also having a surprise grooms cake done - 8" chocolate. It will have me in his local team shirt & OH in man united...and my dog! lol Its costing £70.00. Though it will actually be done on a fake tier as well so we can keep it.

I am having a 3 tiered chocolate cake, covered in white chocolate (to make it look traditional), there will be some sugar flowers in my colours, pink and sage green. From my experience most people don't like fruit cake. I will be serving it as dessert with cream or ice-cream.

It won't cost me anything as my friend (who is starting up her own business in cake making) will be doing it as a wedding present!

Our caterer is doing Cupcakes for us, I need to decide on flavours/colours yet though, but will do a mixture of Chocolate and sponge.

My MIL is getting her pottery friend who used to be a cake maker (She's in her 70s now and retired!) to make us a top cake to cut.. It will feature our colours and buttons ?

This will be ours but probably with pink icing and white polka dots. I think we are having sponge cake but may actually ask for chocolate seeing others posts. Never really thought about that before.

    Aj- you want a Kripsy Kreme cake? You got one;

    We are having 3 cakes.

One Traditional English Victorian styled 3 tiered cake.

A Serbian sponge type cake, very sweet, 3 tiers on multiplatformed custom made cake stand, covered in fireworks.

And a traditional Russian from the village my fiances family is from. Even sweeter than the Serbian cake! its biscuit based with loads of milky whipped areated cream. That'll probably be four tiers.

My mum and I made my wedding cake! It was a traditional fruit cake and had three tiers (14,12 and 10" I think) We started a year before and regularly injected it with brandy! It was soooo yummy! I wanted it to look quite simple and traditional so just stacked them, used white icing to cover and then added a two tone ribbon around the base of each layer and then placed a button hole flower on the top!

We are having a cake designs on this photo (a photo of a candle which is a cake lol)

We are having one tier cherry & amaretto, another chocolate & orange and the final one white chocolate and lime - which is AMAZING!

We wanted to have something a bit different and not traditional fruit or sponge.

We are paying £185 including set up.

I am such a kid when it comes to cake. My 6 year old son hates cake but I order a big jam and buttercream one every year and eat nearly all of it myself, so My wedding cake will be no different, I really dread sharing it out lol!

I plan on having 3 tiers of sponge, buttercream and jam, plain with champagne ribbon and a pearly/diamonte brooch and a large seperate caribbean boozy fruit cake for mum and her family to enjoy.

    My cake:

    2 Tiers (10" and 8")

Both fruit with lots of cherries

    Marzipan on both

Black roll out icing on both

Will be on a stand (c shaped i think it's called with the two rings to support each board)

I will be putting a 1" ribbon around the base of each cake - in turquoise

I've made a peacock feather corsage to pin to the bottom tier, and i've made a peacock feather display for the top tier with crystals in as well.

I also have some black edible fine glitter to dust onto the cakes for a bit of sparkle.

The actual cakes are being made for us at a bargain price of £60
