What can I do now for a 2015 wedding?

MrsF2Bee, 29 March, 2013 at 09:07 Posted on Planning 0 11

We are getting married the end of March 2015, I'm excited and just want to plan plan plan!! So far we have booked our venue and paid our deposit for the registrar. Food is included within the venue. What else can I start sorting or when should I start sorting by? Most wedding planners I look at are fora12month period x

I would look at booking a Photographer next because they are the next thing that gets booked up after the venue. The great thing is you have time to shop around ?

Aww that's a shame as it would have been nice to flick through some albums and meet them in person. September will be here before you know it though. Smiley smile

You could always look online in the meantime?

    Hi there!

Seems like you are pretty much on track Smiley smile

    Did you get insurance already?

What about starting to design the decor and stationary?

Also, have you started the dress hunt?

A tip could be to bring what the planners do for 12 months, start doing it now!

    Good luck and enjoy

Photographer and/or videographer would usually be next, but there's nothing to stop you doing other things now too Smiley smile

We're also getting married in 2015 and are forever picking up little bits and pieces to help spread the cost a little.

I'd definitely second the idea of having a search around on the internet and then booking meetings with anyone you're interested in. Wedding fairs can be a good way to put a face to the work, but it they're busy you probably wouldn't have been able to have a good chat anyway, so don't let it get you down too much. There are still quite a few fairs going on in Essex/Kent over the next couple of months, what area of the country are you in?

    Hello and welcome,

Why not head over to the hitched 2015 fb page, we all have been gathering ideas and sharing plans it might give you some ideas of what to do next or could be looking into. It's funny in August when I got engaged and started looking into planning people always said "its too early yet" Its nice that that hasn't been said or implied it means its rolling around quicker than i'm thinking lol.

    Happy planning

We went to the venue today to sign some paper work and they are hoping the fayre can be rescheduled for May Bank Holiday which will be nice.
I am hoping to make the stationary myself as I am a little crafty and thinking will cut down the costs a little.

As for Insurance, I need to look into that, but I will be. Smiley smile
Dress hunt is waiting until end of this year/start of next, I need to loose a little weight after our first child.

What is the hitched 2015 fb page? I'm going to have to go on a hunt now lol xx

I'm a 2015 bride too Smiley smile I've started doing crafty things like starting my favours (painted horseshoes with our names and date one them).

I'm planning on making my own candy cart and keep going to carboots to find glass vases or bowls to put the sweets in.

I will also be making my own props for our DIY photo booth which will take up some time!

the great thing about it being so far in advance is that you have plenty of time to do things your self! I'm planning on making my own centre pieces which will be (current idea - will probably change soon!) tall jug with hand made paper flowers in Smiley smile

have you heard of Pinterest? It's a great website/app to help with ideas and inspiration! I spend so much time looking on there!

Have you sent save the dates out yet? Maybe you can hand make those if not Smiley smile

You can do as much research as you want now. I would say, don't be afraid to buy things if you really love them just because it's early. They discontinued the bridesmaid dresses I wanted because I wanted to wait until this year. I wanted to be doing stuff before Christmas so I started handmaking little things. I'm cross-stitching all the place settings and hand making paper flowers for the table cenres.
