What can you see out of the nearest window at your place of work?

Vikster79, 13 October, 2011 at 14:34 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 30

I have just been daydreaming staring out of my office window and I can see half a car park, a hooooj black office building which no one actually works in, then in the distance a main road which has just had a stream of "nee nors" whizzing down it.

Lots of tall buildings and the River Kennet. I would be able to see more but the windows are filthy.

A very small, very old graveyard. I always mean to wander over and have a look. It's a small piece of grass on the side of the road with some really old headstones (maybe 10), not fenced off or anything. If I crane a bit, I can see Elizabeth Gaskell's house. The hospital is behind me so the road is frequently buzzing with nee-nors.

From the branch office where I am today - the Co-op car park.

From my normal window, just the street and the houses across the road. Boring.

We don't have windows that you can see out of - only frosted glass non-opening ones.

But, I work in the Business Design Centre in Islington and, the day before yesterday, through my glass fronted office I could see Vince Cable giving a speech at an exhibition.

If I'm on the reception desk - the high street (great for people watching on weekend nights!)

If I'm doing admin in the office - there's just a teeny tiny window at the top where you can see people's feet going back and forward. Very boring and doesn't let in much natural light.

If I'm servicing rooms, could be looking onto the building itself (boring) out across the park and the river (pretty and more people watchey) or again out onto the street

Some very posh houses/flats, a pub and some parked cars. Occasionally interrupted by ambulances stopping outside.

Car park, road (yes I get nee-nors too) perimeter wall of the old mental hospital with trees beyond. Some new houses built where the old hospital used to be. I can see the lights at the turning for the hospital if I stick my head out the window, but not the hospital itself. Right now theres a bunch of young mums with small children passing by, and one kid is screaming...

The pub across the road and a row of parked cars. Fairly busy road (by village standards!) - only a couple of miles from the M25 so lots of various sirens always going past ready to hold up everything on the motorway. The height of excitement at the village shop today was the DVLA van parked outside checking road tax by camera!

Im lucky enough to be sat next to a window (and in the corner of the office so no one can see just how much time i spend on Hitched and FB!)

right outside is a big bike park which is full of bikes and a row of motorbikes. then a patch of grass with a few benches around a wee pond then another building, its kinda a U shaped building. I can see a car park and another faculty building not too far away too!
