What Christmas TV are you looking forward to?

Redbedhead, 23 December, 2008 at 06:32 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 40

Is there anything in particular you really want to see or have set up to be recorded?

I haven't even checked the TV guide yet but really need to soon. The one thing I have seen is The Snowman on Christmas Eve. I always loved watching it as a child and am planning on sitting watching it with G.

Doctor Who and the new Wallace and Gromitt.

We have The Snowman on dvd and usually watch that on Christmas Eve, but going on my daughter's reacton to sad endings lately, we may decide to skip it this year.

Not a lot really - certainly nothing I'll want to record. Will just have a look each day and see what I fancy but H doesn't watch a lot of TV so I doubt we'll be glued to it.

Midsommer Murders (but I look forward to that at any time of the year) and Dancing on Ice. I think there will be a fight for the remote though because H will want to watch Eastenders.

I think I saw Mary Poppins on somewhere but I'm not that fussed having seen it a million times before. I want to see Tom Thumb - that hasn't been on for years!

I also love this - but it's not the same since it's been on Channel 5, I much preferred the BBC version. I think it reminds me of being little - my brother and I always used to watch it!

I'm also looking forward to Shooting Stars, and Wallace and Gromit.

    After reading this thread-

Jonathan Creek, Midsomer murders, Harry Hill, Strictly, Ice skating, Dr Who.

When is the new shooting stars on? I saw an ad for it, but said 'coming soon'. BBC website just has a page about the old series.

    Thanks

Most of everything already mentioned, but i wil most certainly not be watching the snowman.

Ever since this bloody film has been shown, i have no seen no sign of Frosty the Snowman being shown. My most favourite christmas viewing as a child, made me blub everytime.

The same as most of you have said really.

I love Carols from Kings but I might not be allowed to watch it because every year I get cross because they use the 'wrong' arrangements. Everyone else in the entire world sings the harmonies and descants from the Carols for Choirs books, except Kings. I'm sure it's because the standard arrangements were done by a former Director of Music at Kings and the incumbent wants to show off, but it really does get in the way of singing along.
