What could possibly go wrong........

Totoro44, 16 March, 2014 at 02:26 Posted on Planning 0 10

20 days to go..... Things were almost looking on track...... Alarm bells should have rung as life here never runs that smoothly... :-(

OH was on his stag do, phoned me up in the early hours, has fallen over and knocked out all his front teeth. Face is swollen, cut and he is covered in blood. Now, I don't care what he looks like on our wedding day, as long as we come out married, but he is devastated. I've cleaned him up as best as I can and he's fast asleep.......in his words, his poor face is a total mess..... And now it hits me, how the hell do I fix this for him in The time left?!?

On top of this I'm already pulling my hair out at work due to stress and my hands are tied to work 6 day weeks up till the wedding as I manage a team, plus I have a new member of staff to train from Monday too....Just want to cry right now. Time is not on our side.....

sorry, quickly realising this has been more of a vent rather than a constructive post, but struggling with finding a positive right now :-(

Oh no, sorry to hear that things are stresdful and busy at work..and now you h2b having a tumble.

I'm sure in 20 days the swelling will have gone down, also the front teeth can be repaired/replaced and I'm sure this can be done within this time.

Good luck and try not to worry

Oh no! I really feel for you (and him).

There is definitely time for swelling to go down and any cuts and bruises to go. Book him in to a dentist ASAP so they can make some temporary dentures for him. I'm not sure there whether there will be time for permanant ones (if he would even want them yet due to pain and existing swelling).

Oh no, but 20 days is a fair time at least it's not next weekend. Dentist needed ASAP vital anyway to make sure everything is ok. Bruising cuts etc should all be healed and he will be ok if he smiles with his mouth closed on the photos. You must have one with out though as this will be a great story for the kids.

This sounds like something my OH would do, he is the clumsiest person I know and that's without alcohol!! Bruising and swelling will be down in plenty time before the big day. And there's always make up if not? ( bet you never thought you'd be booking a MUA for the groom) and get him straight to a dentist as an emergency. He could have a bridge/ crown or similar fitted but they take time so the more time the dentist has the better. And as someone already said...at least you will have a hell of a story to tell the kids . Hope it all goes well and keep us updated!

Oh no! As others have said, plenty of time for the bruises to go down but I do hope a dentist can help!!

Thank you all xx. It's been a rough morning but we're back from a&e , and waiting to see what emergency treatment we can get on the nhs dentists tomorrow.

Loving the idea about the photos....though he might not be so keen ;-) I've been telling him these were pretty drastic measures to go to to try to avoid making a speech... :-D

This happened to my brother when he was on hoiday. The dentist can put in a temporary thing that will give him teeth and then when the wedding is over he can have something more permenant.

Sorry this is happened but it'll be alright!!
