What did you get for your 30th birthday?

MistyM, 2 January, 2009 at 17:50 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 43

Just looking for inspiration really - I am 30 in a few weeks and am being asked from all corners what I want but I am a bit stuck for inspiration. Just wondering if anyone would care to share what was on their birthday wishlist?

Thanks!

I got these: http://www.robinsonpelham.com/Uploads/Product/Images/Large/Image309.jpg (the yellow gold 4). My sis bought me one, H bought one, Grandad gave me some money and I bought one, used money left by my Dad to get one and my Mum bought a necklace. I love it still two years later. I wanted something I could keep and I love jewellery.

My H arranged a surprise weekend away to Edinburgh, including a visit to Royal Yacht Britannia which I really wanted to see. He found a serviced apartment rather than a hotel for us to stay in which was particularly nice for me as hotels just equate to work for me. He even sorted out the flights.

Normally if we go away anywhere it's always me that sorts it so the fact he did it all and kept it a surprise was really special.

A necklace with droplet pendant from ernest jones - white & yellow gold in the pendant with a tiny diamond. I wear it every day and love it.

Two lines of coke, and a kiss from an exceedingly attractive, highly unobtainable man. Which was nice.

For my 30th, I haven't a clue. For my 40th, I got diamond earrings from H, a necklace and a lemon tree from friends and parents gave me money with which I bought a statue for the garden. My aunt is making me a lace tablecloth and I got the first bit then (and the second bit this Christmas) - I think it'll be several years before I get the whole thing ?

I took H to Eurodisney for 3 nights. For mine I got a Wii, went to see Katie Melua and a necklace with aheart on - replaces the one I lost. From my mum and dad I got dressig gown and slippers, my sister got me a my little pony jumper (to remnd me of my youth!), my brother bought me the next 3 Terry Pratchett books and my older sister got me a next voucher.

H is taking me to St Peterburg for my 30th in February.

Other than that (and I don't expect anything else) I would love a sewing machine and a new camera lens and tripod.

Well I'm not sure you will want what I had-a bread maker and a staple gun (and lots of other presents but I can't remember those). I did want the items and they were/are well used. The bread maker is no longer working though. I'm 40 this year and I really want a laptop so I'm going to ask for money towards that.

H arranged a weekend in Portmeirion, staying in the swanky Castel Deudrath, it was lovely. We spent the weekend tramping round the village and grounds pretending we were in the Prisoner (( I'm not a number....I'm a free woman)) etc ad. nauseum

I recall my then partner got me some fab clothes and we had a great night on the tiles. Subsequent birthdays in recent years since I have been with my H, have been more eventful. I have had several spa weekend breaks and a trip to Barcelona. This year it's the big 4(oh!) but I don't know what he is planning......I am not hard to buy for-a fabulous break away or a meaningful and lovely piece of jewellery would have me purring. ?

My 30th is next year and I haven't a clue what I'll ask for when the questions inevitably start!

I'm hoping to take Mr M to Crieff Hydro for his in June, with family buying him a different activity as his presents. My mum wants to get him quad biking, then there is also clay pigeon shooting, off road driving and a visit to a local distillery. My MiL won't like me taking him away but it's tough really as he doesn't want a fuss at home.

Its my 30th in June and I think my H is going to book a holiday to the Maldives. Its going to be a joint 30th and 1st anniversary present.

Hmmm wondering if I'm doing myself out of presents?!

My OH is 30 in Feb, gulp! I have bought him tickets to see Morrisey (a lifeling dream) and snagged him a fab Paul Smith coat in the sales. I wanted to be more imaginative re the present, but he recently took the plunge and is now a poor medical student, so designer togs are a real treat Smiley smile

I am 30 next year and *really* want a Jamie Read print! Or a vintage Kenner Blythe doll (I collect Blythe dollies Smiley smile ).

It's my 30th next week and we're going to centre parcs and I'm getting pampered. Other than that I have no idea what I'm getting, an eternity ring would be nice but very unlikely as my birthday is too close to Christmas and before pay day!
