I would start with photographer as the good ones get booked up way in advance.

Also catering (if it's not provided by your venue).

I agree with Melancholie - start with the photographer as the good ones do get booked up quickly. I booked my photographer a couple of days after the venue.

If you're planning on sending out Save the Date cards with your Christmas cards I'd do this soon as well depending on the sort you are going to have. I've chosen personalised handmade ones from Vanilla Pod Design (www.vanillapoddesign.com) the Photographic range and because they are handmade they are going to take a about 4 weeks to arrive.

I'd definitely try and sort your photographer out ASAP, I've left it a bit too late for mine and now the photographer we had in mind has been booked.

Definately look into your photography next. Another thing that gets overlooked at the beginning is the entertainment for your evening reception. Bands and discos (the good ones) are also getting booked far in advance.

A lot of people are booking suppliers well into 2010 now as they are saving because of the credit crunch so although you might not be getting married till 2010 (sorry didn't look at your dates) so are a lot of others so make sure you don't end up disappointed.
