What do I need to consider at this stage?

I've just been in contact with a florist and it seems that they are quite booked up for 2013 already. Our wedding is in July next year, and although I know many people plan a wedding in less time, I wonder if there are others things we should be looking at right now to avoid stresses and risk of not being able to book those we would like later on!

I recall reading here that hair and make-up get booked up quickly, so will be looking into that soon too. Anything else we should consider at this point? We have venue booked, photographer almost booked (hopefully today or tomorrow!), save the dates are done.

Appreciate anyone's advice and hope all your planning is going well! Smiley smile

    Cars can get booked up quickly as well, and videographers if you're planning to have one.

    Wedding cars if you're having them, they tend to get booked up pretty snappy too. Your wedding is in quite high season so I'd start looking at those if you'll be using them

    This time last year I had quite a bit booked for my July wedding this year

    Church
    reception venue
    caterers
    Florist
    Cars
    ice cream trike
    hair and make up (my first choice was already booked)

    Thanks for your replies! Let me form a checklist...

    • Church - not required - everything will be in one location
    • reception venue - booked
    • caterers - provided by venue, menu tasting done and menu chosen
    • Florist - started yesterday Smiley smile
    • Cars - not required, we have decided to not have any
    • ice cream trike - fun! Smiley laugh But will probably not book something like this for ours
    • hair and make up (my first choice was already booked) - going to get a move on for this one soon!
    • Videographer - we have decided not to have one.

    I have 18 bookings for wedding photography next year. With 50 this year.

    Most people get booked a year in advance, or the popular / good ones do and we are fast approaching the silly season when enquiries go crazy.

    I know its never too early to book things, but I just wanted to say that it is possible to get things at short notice. We got engaged in December and we're getting married this August and we've had no trouble booking anyone. I only booked my MUA this week. So I think people will be out there you might just have to look around. Hope you get it sorted.
