What do you think of my invites...???

emmamac73, 29 July, 2010 at 21:00 Posted on Planning 0 6

So....I've had a go at invites, with the help of my Dad's lovely girlfriend.

All very draft/rough cut!

The outside...

Then the info pulls out...

The inside, option 1 with cream pearlescent paper

The inside option 2 with opaque paper

I think I prefer option 1...what do you think?!!!

I think I prefer the second one. It looks clearer x

    Like the outer cover!

I prefer the first one. I love the blue ribbon and hearts - very cute. But I would put the wedding invite writing a bit more to the left - it kinda looks like its falling off the sleeve - sorry, only my opinion. I like the idea of sleeves though - very stylish.

I think I prefer the first option - but it is rather hard to see.

I agree with raincloud - the wording Wedding Invitation should move just a lil bit to the left ? Otherwise the front looks really smart and pretty!

Nice design ... difficult to tell the difference with those photos re. the inserts, but the clearer the invitation wording, the better...

you might want to (if you haven't already!) think about buying pre-cut card to fit your wallets perfectly, and to achieve a perfect overlay with your 2 layers of coloured card. PDA Crafts will do this for you and have heaps of colours you'll be able to match up... its a whole lot easier than cutting it yourself!

    Good luck!

Hey I am new to this site and looking for invite inspiration!
I think this is a fab idea for invites never seen any like it before.
I am planning to do all stationery myself and if you dont mind me asking how did you make these? I would love to have a go.
Also I agree with previous posts I like the first one!

    Gem

    Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all your comments. I agree re the "wedding invitation" writing, I'll move it left. They are tricky little buggars to stick on! lol!

I think we've settle on the cream 1st pic too, that and the green card are both pearlescent so go nicely together.

Gem, the sleeves are from here...

    /

as are the embellisments and ribbon.

The inserts I made myself. With a wonky pair of scissors!! My dad's GF has a mini guilitine and craft knifes/matt etc so I'm hoping this will give it a better finish! I'm struggling to find the right colour elsewhere, tried PDA too. Teal Green is tricky!!

But.....just to complicate matters....colour scheme is meant to be teal green and choc brown. OH is struggling to find choc brown tail suits so may end up in grey, which is fine....just means colour scheme will change to teal and silver. So the sleeve on here will be silver not brown :-) silver might be nicer for summer I suppose, but choc brown goes better in the venue...men!! he he!
