what do you think of these shoes?

cantwait2bMrsC, 23 April, 2009 at 12:07 Posted on Planning 0 14

As title really.... I've already got some shoes but have have now discovered that 2 of my bridesmaids, who are both already 2-3 inches taller than me, are wearing shoes with 3.5inch heels (they're supplying their own). The shoes i've got only have 2.5 inch heel so i've been looking for some to make me a bit taller! Found these, which i think may be ok, but not sure if they're "wedding-y" enough! Opinions please! ?

Truth by told i love your other shoes more. Also is it a case of you think you should be taller or you want to be taller than your BM's? i just ask because i'm 5'4" and all my bridesmaids are 5'7" and over and i am terrible in anything higher than 2" heels so i might even go for flats. Also mr delicious is 6'5" and i'm used to being short!

I prefer the look of the new pair, but the heels of the old pair (as i'm a shortie too and can't bear big heels!)

so i am no help at all.

go with whichever are more comfortable - you will be in them ALL DAY.

    The higher pair look cheap...sorry!

Much prefer your original ones...or pehaps same style but higher heel.

TBH I really don't think it'll matter how tall you look.

I think the new ones are nice! Not that 'weddingy' but I wouldn't let that stop you!

Have you had your dress fitted yet though? if you had it fitted with old shoes it could be a bit of an ankle-swinger if you are suddenly taller!

I prefer the ones you already got, they are more weddingy and more elegant. Dont worry about being shorter, if BM's are taller than you, you are never going to be taller than them anyway. Stick to what you have and dont create any problems. XX

Oooo that first pair/new pair they would be soooooooooo perfect for my wedding toooooo, very 30s/40s/50 tea dress style anddd with a platform sole you dont get sore balls of feet and you dont feel particularly high up - as my wedding shoes are platforms too.....

    get themmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Another vote for the new pair here! They are really nice and I think they would look lovely with a wedding dress even though they aren't as "weddingy"

They don't look unbearably high either, although they are definitely much higher than the ones you already have. But I'm guessing you can cope with heels anyway, otherwise you'd presumably not be seriously considering them!

An alternative idea is maybe to wear the new ones for the ceremony and pics, and if the heels are really starting to bother you after that you can change into the ones you already have?

Thanks everyone...you're all pretty split with your choices though! (i make it 7 for new pair, 4 for old). I'm not having my dress fitted for another couple of weeks yet so no problem with it being too short if i go for higher heel. I know i'll never be taller than my BM's, so it's not that i think i should be taller than them, just that i'd like to be at least nearly the same height.

Teehee, that's what i thought too... obviously they are a much higher heel than my original pair but i'm hoping they wont feel too high. Have decided to order them and see what they're like IRL. I can always send them back...... ?

I prefer the new pair - way better! Not like a "regular" pointy toe, wedding shoe.
