What does your OH do for a living?

Mine is a carpenter. He works mostly on new build houses.

Mine's probably not much help for your career change! He's an economist at the FCA. Also thinking of leaving and doing something else, though still in the economics field.

Mine's a policeman for the Met.

Mine is a Senior Student Finance Officer at a London University. He did a masters in 3D animation and worked in a company doing that for a few years which he loved, but when the recession hit the company went bust, so he is trying to get back in but it's hard.

Mine is a design engineer for a fire suppression company, He works mostly in the prison service or commercial kitchens. But he is hoping to be a farmer. His Dad has a farm that he would like to take over in the future.

He is a laboratory manager for a research lab at a uni. He specialises in cell imagery using fancy pants microscope s and fancy named techniques! That's about as much as I understand!

My H works in recruitment, for rail companies ATM. (the construction side)

He was a warehouse supervisor but hated it and fancied a career change so he is now a postman.

He is a qualified brick layer though and does a few private jobs in his spare time.

Ha exactly! I always think that when I say that my OH works in banking! What does your OH do at RBS?

My OH is a general builder. He works with my Dad and his Dad (just the three of them in the company). It's great because he can do all the jobs that need doing to the house, saving us having to pay someone else

My H is an Applications Developer. He currently works for a private firm (which head-hunted him) but his old employer (Community College) contacted him last week asking him to go back as a Senior Developer.

Mine sells body parts. Currently running a nice line in colons, reconditioned and fully-valeted.

Mine works in finance for a large international charity.

Currently he is a gas inspection advisor. Hopefully he will soon be a business analyst.

Not so interesting fact- he is a trained chef. He never ever cooks at home.

Mines an Electronics Engineer working with his dad in the week. On a Sunday he develops photos for Boots (been doing it since school and decent pay!)

Mine is a 'Mineral Demand Controller' for Saint Gobain..

He's a technical manager for a building maintenance company working in a big bank in Canary Wharf, which is classed as a critical building He's done so well, one of the youngest managers in the field. I'm very proud of him!

Mine is a 3rd Line IT Systems Engineer and manages the Training Department.

He sells stuff to big customers like John Lewis, Selfridges, Primark etc.

Currently it's a total yawn fest as it's paint. His last job was gift wrap, also boring. Prior to that it was candles, great freebies and prior to that is was crystal glassware.

Mine is a painter and decorator. It's the only career he's ever had, he's very happy and just likes painting stuff. Not exciting, but he's a damn lot happier than I am!

I used to work for Saint Gobain WW, or Saint Goblin as we used to call it! Is he based at East Leake?

I worked for Saint Gobain Glass Solutions, based in Coventry.

Small world! I never visited East Leake myself but a few of my colleagues ended up working over there. I do miss that company. I got sent on a conference once which was at Euro Disney!

H is a solutions director at a big telecoms company, covers European customers. Hes done this for nearly 15 years.

Mine is a croupier but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, working in a casino is pretty soul destroying. He's just finished his degree in Film and Television so he's looking for a change too.

He is a joiner and hates it on and off. He's had a couple of crap jobs that destroyed his confidence a bit. It was good when we renovated our house though! He would like to be in the police but he doesn't have the confidence. I suspect he is mildly dyslexic but school never picked up on it, he struggles with reading and spelling but just brushes it off. He is good with numbers though so I suppose a joiner suits him but I wish he was happier.

My OH is a sales assistant, retail work. Absolutely hates it and is trying to get out of it but it is so hard at the moment.
