What does your OH do for a living?

I wouldn't recommend it these days.

Why not?

My H would love to join the police but I'm not keen (I've not told him this obviously!) if it would make him happy I'd be all for it. I just know when he worked nights I'd be up worrying about him!!

I think this would be my OH dream job!

He's a Gas Engineer. He's very handy generally which is useful when it comes to fixing stuff/DIY around the house!

jealous of the F1 jobs!

Mine is a self employed translator. He used to be an accountant but hated it so jacked it in, went travelling, came back and his brother got him a translation project from the same company he has as a client. He's now been doing it for three years and likes it.

H's other job is bass player in a band. He would love to do his job part time so he could spend more time doing band stuff!I

There's quite a few of them about. I always cringe awkwardly and just mumble about finance if asked and if pressed try to point out he's not an investment banker (anymore) he lost that in the financial Armageddon of 2008

Do any banker OHs enjoy their jobs? Mine hates it, but we aren't sure if it's the bank he's now at rather than the actual job! Obviously there is a lot of diversity under the banker umbrella, but I refer mainly to the type of environment, the stresses and pressures.

He's a physio, works on intensive care.

H is a Quantity Surveyor. He hates it, I don't hate the money he earms though ?

He wants a new job though, as is convinced he'll either go into property management or open his own garage and do up cars like on Wheeler Dealers.

I reckon he'll still be measuring up buildings in 10 years. ?

I do the same and have to admit I feel like this about it too sometimes!

My OH is a tree surgeon ? He's just gone self employed, I'm so proud of him, plus its nice to oggle at him when he comes home all rugged and holding a chainsaw ?

My cousin is a tree surgeon. He has the best dinner party story I've ever heard, involving a "dwarf" (his word, not mine) and an poorly-thought through rope/heavy branch/counterweight system....

Offshore electrician.

Away 2weeks, home 2 weeks. Always been this way since we met so I'm used to him being away.....he briefly got a job working here but hardly saw him due to the long hours, which is ironic!!

One of my best friends works offshore too, but is 4wks on, 4 wks off. I have muchos respect for her and her H, like yourself this has been the situation their entire relationship.

My H is a security operations manager, and a close protection bodyguard. He's either here, or he's off saving the world at zero notice!

My OH is in the RAF, he works with communications and is fantastic at his job. And at home when I blow up the computer!! I'm in the civil service so when he moves I get to come too and its all hassle free!!

Hydraulics engineer, youth worker, trampoline coach and DJ....he's a busy man!

Mine is a Naval Architect. He loves his job. I barely understand the title.

Mine is a carer, he works with children with disabilities and adults who need long term care. He loves it especially as half the time he gets to go bowling or the cinema for work!
