What does your OH think of hitched?

*libby*, 16 March, 2011 at 21:15 Posted on Planning 0 40

Im sure im not the first to ask this but what does your OH think of hitched?

At first my h2b thought it was odd that I want to discuss our wedding with people I don't actually know but I think he is kind of starting to get it a bit now.

Although if he knew how much time I really spend on here he would be shocked!

He thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread as it keeps me quiet and him free to play the PS3

Although sometimes when i'm laughing or crying at the laptop he thinks im strange lol

She doesn't mind me being here Smiley smile Particularly as I'm the one out of us more used to using discussion forums, and I have more time (plus her work don't let them visit hardly any non-work related websites but as I'm involved in our work IT department I can make certain things work...)

    ?

My relationship with Hitched long preceeds my relationship with OH, so he's never really known anything else. When he first found out it was a wedding website he looked a bit scared, but once he realised it was OT, he was fine.

It's part of common everday life in this house..... so much so that if there's something I/we can't suss, he often asks if I've "asked my website"!?

I draw the line at him ever joining up like some H's though - not sure I could cope with that!?

Mine 3....PS3 time when I come on hitched.

I'm not on as much as I used to be when I was planning, but I still enjoy seeing all the newbies come on, and checking in on how peoples wedding plans are going (even though everyone from when I was planning is now an Old Married!!)

Mine is quite intrigued and finds it rather amusing when someone get's a bit uptight about something. Bit of a hypocrite really, as when things don't go his way he get's more uptight than any girl i've ever known ?

My OH thought it was a bit odd at first but now he will quite often ask how the girls are, or if I have got something new for the wedding or a bit of a dilema, he's like have you shown the girls/asked the girls lol

He totally gets it now, bless him.

Mine says "what can you possibly have left to discuss"?, but also asks me "whats the latest on your wedding forum"?

I think he is glad I have an outlet as I was boring him initially.

Carmen is in here too, and we're both active on various other forums (DJ forums for me and photographic forums for her).

There should be more guys in here! AJ does a great job, and I'm full involved in our wedding so taking all your tips in!!

Hitched gives him free reign of the TV or the PS3, , , , ,

although he does often say if you don't stop logging on to Hitched you may have to find a new forum called

    'Ditched' ?

    xx

Mine's actually really happy that I go onto hitched and natter with everyone.

I don't have much support from people around me. Mum gets in strops all the time when things don't go her way. She's currently in one now so we won't be talking for ages. My sister see's it as an inconvenience more than anything so I'm a bit loath to ask for help. The rest of my family are not the greatest people with their own agenda's (previous post about the wedding being a circus to get husbands for her girls!) My best friend is a bit of a tomboy so is so helpful but not the best for fluffy discussions. And my OH is just happy to nod along to everything.

He used to chuckle when I said I'll ask the Hitched ladies, but it's him who suggests it most of the time now.

My OH doesn't get forums....or computers for that matter. He thinks it's a load of rubbish and doesn't understand why I'm always on the computer. In saying that though, if he doesn't moan at me for being on the computer, I don't moan at him for going to the pub!!!!!! x

My OH is used to me going on internet forums, there are a couple that I've been going on for years and have made some good friends - some that don't tar me with the same brush as other people as well....

Mine doesn't even know I come on here (not that I hide it from him, but I come on during work and rarely at home)! Neither of us have ever posted on forums in the past and he's not much into computers, so I can see him finding it a bit odd to be discussing our wedding details with "strangers".

My fiancee thinks that i'm slightly insane to want to post on a wedding forum. She also thinks that I must be annoying everybody just because i'm not a bride. She also refuses to come here because she thinks you all won't like her, so I can't disprove any of her assumptions.

OH and I met through a chatroom and we both contribute to other forums so the whole being on the Internet bit doesn't faze him at all, it's the why I would want to talk about weddings bit that bemuses him! ? But then I don't understand his obsession with weather forums at all either!

My H thinks that I am obsessed. But then sometimes he will say.... 'ask the girls on hitched'. So he can't its that bad.

I have used hitched for years and its fab for ideas and a good place to chat.

I used to use other forums, so he's used to the concept. There was one in particular that I used to go on a lot (have stopped now as it's just gotten really misogynistic and cliquey)... have been posting there for over 5 years, i.e. from well before I met H2B and I've met some good friends off there (who don't really post there anymore). I lived with someone I met off there, as in I met up with her and became friends first and when we both needed somewhere to live we decided to live together.

Anyway, point being, he's used to it. He does love all the dramas and gossip that comes out of wedding forums!
