What flowers are you having?

2 September, 2011 at 15:16 Posted on Planning 0 30

Just a random nosy/fun post - what flowers are you having (or buttons, brooches, whatever)?

We're having pale pink and white, mainly roses including Sweet Avalanche. I was quite surprised when I realised that's what I wanted as I originally thought I wanted brighter colours.

Would have loved peonies, but it's not the season for them, oh well!

I don't know what type yet, and I know nothing about flowers so hopefully I can learn something from this post! I know I want pale peach and cream/whites. I love wildflowers but they wont really go with my colour scheme.

Ooo roses and gerberas a popular choice - does anyone have any pictures? I've only got an idea in my mind at the moment - i want to include those old antique lookin roses that are cream with pink tips as want different shades of pinks as bridesmaids will be in different shades as will my cake!

I'm probably going to end up with just a white rose boquet, because there aren't many blue flowers that are in season in October!!

If I was having a blue theme i would have forget me nots - i think they would make a lush bouquet! I was tempted just for the flower but I'm a pink girl at heart, had to go with it!

Quite similar to you AnniePie - I'm having pink peonies (or david austen roses if the peonies aren't 'good' next year), sweet avalanche roses, stock and some hydrangea Smiley smile Pretty pretty and smell divine!

    Do you mean like this?

Unfortunately, it's the wrong sort of blue!

I've found this, which is white roses and triteleia, which I absolutely adore... but it's an American flower, so not sure if we can get it in this country.

We're having silks as half the bridal party has bad hayfever.

I think we're having green hydrangea, pale pink peonies and stems of lavender for me.

Probably green hydrangea and creamy white peonies for the bridesmaids.

lavender stems for D i think and probably white roses for the other boys.

Might change my mind later on though.

I was originally going to have a black and pink leather rose bouquet, but since we changed our plans, there's no time to get it made.

Now I have no clue. I have 2 months to decide on something...

I had a meeting with a florist yesterday who was lovely, she has suggested Amnesia Roses, Freesias, Hydrangeas and Dahlias in White and dusky pink colours with foliage. I am now liking the look of Sweet Avalanche Roses too.

I'm having silk sunflowers, as I didn't want anything too 'traditional' or 'bridey' IYKWIM. They are my fave and OH has a tradition of getting me those or tulips.

I'm making button bouquets, but the flowers we are having are peonies..nothing else with them ,just peonies....I have a peony obsession so wouldn't even consider getting married outside of peony season!

first mock up of bridesmaid bouquet.....no where near the finished article.
