I discovered I hate chickpeas yesterday. Never had anything with them in before, but they were in a soup I had and it was revolting. I discovered it was the chickpeas. Yuk. I'm not a fussy eater so my list of food hates is chickpeas and anchovies (i can probably confidently add hummus now too). Mr DCM however hates lots of things&lots that i love so can't understand - most veg, esp cauliflower, mushrooms, cream, anything sweet, strawberries.

Just wondered, what foods do you hate?

Bananas! Can't even bear being near someone else eating one - they smell so bad. Then mushrooms, cauliflower, peanuts and stinky cheese (I have loads of friends who would kill me for saying that though).

Yes, I miss it sometimes. Have been veggie for 23 years (approx).

I don't think that I have ever tried okra either.

I hate broad beans, cauliflower and bananas. I think that I was scarred as a child as I was given broad beans with the skins on and cauliflower just tastes like trumps in my opinion!

    Oooh can I join in....

I absolutely loathe coleslaw and I am not particularly fond of olives.

I don't like red meat either but I think that's because I haven't eaten it in so long.

Wow that's impressive I'm surprised you remember what it tastes like! I stopped eating wheat for about 6 years and my perception of what things tasted like and the reality changed a bit.

Ob - are you suggesting bananas and lamb together?! Now that would be wrong!

I hate meringue, the taste, the texture, everything.

Also pomegranate. M&S do some lovely pre-packed salads that I get for lunch occasionally, but they all seem to have bloody pomegranate seeds in them!

I also have a really weird thing about any food that is disguised in some way to look like something else. Especially if it's sweet and made to look savoury or vice versa.

I am surprised no one mentioned it sooner! My hate list is small, just: mayo, cabbage, sprouts and celery.

    Can't stand: -

    Olives

    Mushrooms

    Raw tomato (cooked is fine)

    Mustard

    Horseradish

    Ketchup

I think they're the only things I really seriously try to avoid. There are lots of others which I would choose not to have but can swallow if someone gives them to me and I don't want to upset them.

I hate marzipan, celery, peanut butter, peanuts in chocolate, fruit or sweet things in savoury food, beef crisps, olives, marshmallows.

OH is a far more fussy eater than me and hates anything with a mushy texture - mashed potato and baked beans are probably his two most hated things.

I don't think I actually hate or dislike anything! I think that's one of the factors that make me struggle with weight control too! ?

When I was growing up mum always told us to try everything at least once (we weren't forced to like or eat it, but we HAD to try it) and I was the kid who loved everything edible. My nickname was "botomless bag"!

I do avoid too much spiced food (like vindaloo) but mainly because I struggle to get the flavour of it over the spice. If I can, I've been als avoiding pork and lamb if I can, but mainly because I learnt piggies are as or more intelligent than dogs, and I feel for little lambs dying to feed us. I have to be careful with aubergines, as if they are not correctly cooked, they give me an itchy tongue ?

I wouldn't say I hate any foods, but people tend to think I'm a bit weird when I say I don't really like chips, ice cream or anything battered and deep fried.

I can't really think of anything! I'm not a massive fan of kidney/liver/liquorice but i could eat them if served to me!

I very much believe in trying everything at least once (the only thing I'd struggle to try would be those black egg things they have to eat on shows like I'm A Celeb)

Coconut - the smell and taste makes me heave, it's sickly and disgusting. This stretches to shampoo and soap smell too. If anyone fed me a Thai green curry I couldn't eat it.

    Lamb

    Beetroot

    raw onion

    Mayonnaise

    avocado

    nuts

    marzipan

sweet and savoury together, it's wrong!

I can't abide mushrooms. They are the only thing that presented with at a dinner party I couldn't force myself to eat.

im not that keen on blue cheese or any sort of offal.

apart from that I am not choosy.
