What gigs / concerts / festivals do you have lined up?

Erin8, 3 July, 2014 at 17:38 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 35

For our wedding present then my brother wants to give us a fun present of a festival experience! He also suggested a "boring" present (his words not mine!) giving us money towards work on our house. Please inspire me with gigs / concerts / festivals you are going to this year. He suggested Bestival but l am working all if that weekend

Reading/Leeds are another biggy with famous acts like Bestival. Not an exact style match. End of August I think.

Sonisphere this weekend for a different music type, an Glastonbury you've just missed the boat on.

I prefer smaller festivals myself; 2000 Trees is in about 10 days, ArcTanGent for post-rock music at the end of August (that's the one I'll be going to), and Damnation Festival for metal in November.

I've never really taken to the massive events.

Oh, ATP website is worth a look, as more than one event a year (All Tomorrow's Parties). I think their main UK one this year is in August too.

    Ooh sounds good!

You've got V Festival in Chelmsford in August, looks like a decent line up. The only thing I'd say is a reckon you've probably missed the boat this year for getting tickets to any of the ones still to happen and obviously all the ones that have already been!

If I'm honest I can't be doing with the mud and camping anymore but still go to a lot of gigs. In the last 2 weeks I've seen Kelis, Kings of Leon and Eels. Going to see a smaller less well known band in October called Jim Jones Revue who I love but are splitting up ☹️

Unfortunately l am working all weekend V festival is on. Frustrating as l live so close to it! Unfortunately l think you might be right about missing the boat. Maybe a few smaller gigs would be the way to go -plus Mr Erin hates camping!

None at the moment and my suggestion would have been Bestival so I'm not much use! What about Latitude festival? Never been but always fancied going.

I don't do festivals anymore, but my bro used to go to Beautiful Days every year til they had their baby, he always enjoyed that. Alas, I'm too old and arthritic for festivals these days. Hoping to go to see Skindred and Steel Panther in March, but only if I can get a seat with an aisle!

Latitude looks awesome this year, if they've still got tickets. We just got day tickets to V so there's def still the odd ticket for stuff lined up. Hoping to get Paolo nutini tickets tomorrow morning but not much else lined up Tbh. are you into comedy? Not music but the Greenwich comedy festival is on in Sept, you could look into getting tickets for some event through that?

I know, I don't do festivals though, too crowded for me :-(

Hoping they will tour the smaller venues like they did last year.

    To ravioliruby

Couldn't believe it when I managed to get tickets I was all set up on my laptop at 9am ready for 9.30am start. Come this time, website crashed, it took me another 10mins to get in and there it was x2 tickets available in September. I just stared at the screen when the message came "Angie you are going to see Kate Bush". My husband has LOVED her since the late 70's and we had "Running up that Hill" as one of our wedding songs

Tray & MM3 Would love to see 30 STM, currently watching You Tube clips ++

One of my colleague saw him last week and said he was brilliant!

I've seen him with the Raconteurs and the dead Weather and he is totally mesmerizing. If I had more holiday from work I would definitely buy tickets

I'm not a fan of the "big" festivals such as Global, Leeds, Reading, etc etc. I am more of a lesser know and not-mainstream festies.

Glaston-budget is a great festival held every May bank holiday and hosts some fantastic tribute bands and up and comings.

I am festival going next week here, Beat-Herder. One of THE most special festivals I've ever been to. - http://beatherder.co.uk/

Check out the Toil Trees "arena". Its all in the woods and to get served at the bar, called Angies Den, you need to get down on the floor as the bar is underground with an opening hatch!
