The Little Jewellery Box

what hair accessories are you planning on wearing?

The Little Jewellery Box, 12 June, 2013 at 12:27 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi ladies,

I am a registered Hitched supplier and I hope you don't mind, but I am doing a bit of research. I am interested in what hair accessories you are going for, tiaras, side tiaras, headbands, combs, pins etc etc. Pearls, crystals, diamante, vintage style....you get the picture! Also, what are your bridesmaids wearing? If you would like to post photos of your accessories then please feel free to flash.

Thank you so much ladies! x

I am making something, as my dress came with a choker which does not work for me but had Lace and beading - I thought it would be easy to detach said beads and lace without too much work, Not the case - but i have only got a final peice to do now the lace peices add up to about 20cm of lace with intricate beading but it will slide at the side of my high french Pleat. Ends up looking like a Large rose on the back of my head

    Mine's a hair clippy thing:

It sorts suits the vintage-y vibe and sparkle of my dress. Plus it's not too overwhelming. I'm not wearing any other accessories (jewellry, etc...apart from a ring, of course!!)

I'm having those coily things in. They are far more sparkly than they look on this photo and we're an absolute bargain- under £5 including postage for a dozen. I love them! :0)

It was actually bought for me at the bridal shop, when I went to try on dresses! My friend grabbed it from the display to try on with a dress and they all liked it so much, when I came to pay the deposit on my dress at the end she handed me a bag with it in all bought and paid for! ?

Sorry that's not much help. It's at my sister's place so can't check the manufacturer. The shop was Anya Bridal in Droxford...not sure if there's any info on their website?

    Thanks, animalmad!

I was going to get a vintagey side band or comb and have my hair down in a 30s style, but when these arrived along with various others I'd ordered for the bms to try it couldn't bear to part with them. So my look has now gone from silver screen to Boho just because of some 5 quid spirals haha!

I am having a tiara. I found the perfect looking one by Ivory & Co, called Carlotta but I can't actually find it anywhere to try on. I don't want to buy it without handling it first. I visited 3 bridal shops yesterday but nothing caught my eye and everywhere has side tiaras now. I have an appointment with another shop on Saturday, so hopefully they will have something. I was wondering about something in the back of my hair too, maybe sparkly pin things. I have let my BM's decide for themselves, not fussed as long as it doesn't look stupid.

I haven't chosen on yet, but will be going for probably a side tiara or comb. My dress is quite vintage-y and is ivory lace over champagne so I've decided to go for gold rather than silver, although there isn't loads around in gold. I'll probably go for pearls and maybe some of the gold edged diamantes.

The coils were from Ebay, bug I've just seen that the seller is no longer registered. :0(. However, there were loads to choose from and much cheaper than in the shops x

A quite blingy headpiece for me, basically wired seed beads and crystals forming loops coming out of metal leaves/foliage centre, all on a headband. The idea was based on Jenny Packham's Poppy II headpiece.
