What have been your favourite presents recently?

Westy, 9 June, 2009 at 16:43 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

I'm going shopping tonight to buy birthday presents for very close female friends.

1. 31 years old with a 3 year old - love cooking, make up, houset things and wine!

2. 26 years old, married, no children - loves wine and make up (but will not appreciate someone buying her make up as she is very particular) and is majorly stressed about work at the moment. They are decorating the whole house so nothing housey would suit

Both are quite fussy about their clothes so that's a no go area.

Presents in the past for number 1 have consisted of benefit make up, cooking oils etc and is probably the easiest to buy for. We have got number 2 things like scarves, alcohol etc

Budget up to around £30 for each.

Have you received anything lovely recently? We had a quick look round places at the weekend but have been majorly swamped and I don't want to walk round the trafford centre tonight not knowing where to start.

I haven't had much bought for me recently but there are a few Philosophy bath items i'd quite like. I'm getting my SIL the Lemonade smelling stuff for her birthday if QVC still have it. I also like nice hair products that I can't always justify buying myself and tokens for my hairdresser are always a great idea, no-one has much spare cash for stuff like that at the moment, well I don't.

I had some gorgeous gifts last week for my birthday - tickets to Mamma Mia in London last night (was amazing!), Chanel compact mirror (all diddly wrapped in fab packaging!), Mac make-up case with eyeshadows, lipglass, etc, beauty salon vouchers, a gorgeous evening bag from Accessorize, benefit bad gal eye pencil and blusher. Um, can't remember what else, but those were my totally favourite things. HTH.

It was my birthday at the weekend, and my favourite gift was a picnic hamper (old-fashioned wicker basket with cutlery, glasses and napkins). Quite unusual I suppose but I've always loved things like that. Not sure where from or how much H paid, but we did see one in Tesco a few weeks ago (which is what made me comment and he remembered)

My mum has also booked me in for a massage and facial which I am really looking forward to as I never get the chance to pamper myself, and I'm also pretty stressed with work at the moment.

I'm 27, btw, married with no kids.

I recently was given some Philosophy bath stuff and it was lovely - I'm usually quite picky about stuff like that. My H bought me this a couple of weeks ago - it's fab and a good talking point in the kitchen https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alessi-Juicy-Salif-Squeezer-PSJS/dp/B00004YTQZ I do love Alessi things though. What about a funky embroidered bag from Accessorize, ther's some lovely ones in there at the moment, or maybe a Cath Kidston something or other (like an apron and send it to me instead 😄).

Thank you for all the fab responses. We got friend 1 a mirror compact and fried 2 some perfume (which she had requested via her H so not just a random bottle).
