What have you achieved today?

Storky, 29 February, 2012 at 16:59 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 31

Me:

Made a curry this morning and it's sat in the slow cooker waiting to be eaten.

Had an enjoyable business lunch.

Got wolf whistled at by a clown. An old clown.

Spilt a pint of double cream.

Ordered some new ink.

You?

Secured some work for the next two weeks with potential to extend into the next two months.

That is pretty much it! And to be fair, all I had to do was answer the phone when it rang.

Stripped the bathroom in the new house ready for new one to be fitted on Monday. Sold some of our old furniture and microwave, taken 3 trips to the tip.

    Made 2 dozen cupcakes.

Did 3 loads of washing and ironing.

Ordered my boys some stuff for Christmas. Got everything for my youngest now.

Made a roast chicken dinner, which my 8 year old then refused to eat.

With 4 kids, buying early helps spread the cost.

Plus, i'm taking full advantage of the fact my youngest will only be 18 months old at Christmas. He won't request expensive stuff like his siblings. ?

Helped about 200 kids write CVs and teach them the art of turning negatives into a positive during interview questioning i.e. blagging it.

Invented a catchphrase for future careers day advice: "Employers want the cream of the crop, not the leftover slop."

Bought a new spangly skirt online.

About to make a lovely selection of Indian food and serve them for tea tapas stylee.

Today I moved 7 tonnes of manure 1/4 mile from the kerb to the shed - I am quite sore now.

Delivered my first assesment day alone- it went well

I have filled all of my new starter slots for next Monday and am pretty much done for the group after.

Conducted 3 exit interviews and convinced one lasy to work her notice fully rather than leave without.

Recived a nice big box of Cath Kidston goodies ?

Need to make something nice for MrMini for dinner now- poor love is doing unspeakable things to the car on the driveway.

Looked after 14 different babies, changed about 30 nappies, made sure I had the chance to spend time with each and every child, and only got puked on once!

    Today I;

    1) pulled together two last minute costumes for world book day (our school did it today instead of tomorrow as that's when they had the book people in)

    2) Read one-to-one with 6 kids from Max's class

    3) Baked some chocolate orange brownies and apple and sultana flapjacks for our school trip o the museum tomorrow

    4) Had a slight argument with OH and told him we really can't afford the extravagant wedding he's planning!

I had a productive day at work.

I took my shoes to be re-heeled (again... have now spent more on heels than the shoes cost... must buy work shoes with chunkier heels)

I arranged a surprise with Sandals for our friends honeymoon in 2 weeks.

Booked tickets to the IMAX to see Star Wars in 3D (Ewan McGregor in 3D yes please!) for Saturday (FIL birthday treat)

Researched a much better mobile phone deal to save myself muchos pennies.

Wow - you ladies put me to shame!

I had a mega productive day at work, no internet skiving at all!

Mamaged to not fall asleep in Uni while the dullest person in the world talked crap for over two hours...with no coffee break!

    Thats about it ☹️

Today I cleared my in-tray at work. That sounds pathetic but it was overflowing. Next step is clearing the filing pile.

I also helped a student make a difficult decision. I did tell him about Student Support but he wanted to speak to me. That was nice, well, not that he was having difficulties but that I could help him.

Completed a very long graduate scheme assessment day in London

And had my first conference call meeting re training this weekend.

Only two things but hopefully one of them will get me a job after uni!
