    Hi,

(I realise I am biased) However choosing to not wear a jacket is like wearing half of a suit. Or like they have forgetten the jacket or could not be bothered to put it on for the pictures (in my opinion)

Could the men not have a jacket just for a few pictures?

Suits are my biggest concern at the moment (got to try and get stressed about something as B2B goes dress shopping!) - I keep umming and erring between tails and a really nice suit which I can actually wear more often (oh, and a kilt, but I think I've ruled that out (this week anyway!)) - think I've come down on the side of a nice suit with cravat...but to answer your question, I personally would expect jackets - fine to have some photos without to show off the waistcoats if theyre special and if its a warm day, they may not be worn much, but for me a suit is not a suit without a jacket...

What does your OH want? It's not really down to you and your mum, it's what he will feel happy in isn't it?

Personally i think the jackets complete the outfit, and i would only suggest not wearing them if oare getting married in the height of summer when the weather is being good. obviously its down to personal preference of the groom but i think it looks best with jackets

WSS. my h2b has chosen what he wants to wear even though his choice of tartan has meant it's not my preferred colour scheme. but it's what he wants to wear, so i'm not going to dictate otherwise.

Edited to be slightly more helpful: agree with others - for the formal parts of the day i.e. ceremony & pictures, a suit looks MUCH better with the jacket. your h2b can take it off for the meal and evening.

Noooo they must have suits, I think. Men with no suits is like you with no bouquet, or you with no make up...... its not only smart, it completes the look...

Another vote for jackets. TBH I wouldn't have even thought about a suit without the jacket, of course take it off later on or of its hot etc.

What does your OH think? - really he should be involved in the decision too.

Oooh no dont like the idea of no Jacket. Remember that the back of waistcoats are usually plain so i think it woul dlook a bit boring to be honest

    what does your OH want?

Another vote for jackets here, if it gets too hot they an take them off later, but I think they are appropriate for in the church/ceremony and for the photos at least, and then take them off for dinner and evening.

I think it's down to what the groom wants to wear - I mean I presume he's had no say in your dress?!

A suit is the traditional wedding dress but there are so many combinations these days from normal lounge suit through morning dress with different jackets to kilts or black tie. Buying will be expensive if you want all the men to look the same which is why so many people hire.

Won't they look like snooker players with no jackets? Another vote for the jackets from me!

If you're trying to save money you could always buy for the groom and hire for everyone else.
