Gosh this is sooooooooooo annoying.

I have been away all weekend. I have just tried to log on to look at the facebook page, and now it has dissappeared. Have I been booted out, or does it no longer exist?

Then I popped on to Hitched this morning on WP and saw Red Barry had a thread about FB but it was OT. Log on half an hour later to have a read and now it has ****** gone.

Grrrrrr, this is so frsutrating.

I think it was Lynsey, Bex and Nat. I may be wrong though.

Correct, without pointing fingers.. I wasn't told the group was being deleted and it's Bex's wedding day today so I doubt she has done it - Surely has better things to be doing.. Like drinking champers.

I think Lynsey must have done it, but unsure why as of yet.

Thanks for clearing that up BB. I'm not pointng fingers, just interested as to who did it as it probably explains why the group got closed. If it was Lynsey I suspect she got cheesed off with the amount of hassle she was getting. It is a shame as although I didn't use it as regularly as some, I did enjoy the instant chat through the group.

I've not been online much over the weekend so I never saw Lynsey getting hassled. Does anyone know what it was about?

Noooo, I wasn't saying you were pointing fingers, silly panda Smiley tongue It was me, I came up with the conclusion that Bex wouldn't have done it and I knew I hadn't lol.

We can all point fingers, we can all accuse one party or another of having a "Secret Society" or "Clique", but at the end of the day if it's getting on everyone's tits what's the point? If you all want to go off and set up your own FB groups to chat to those you're friendly with then go for it, noone is stopping you. Just keep it out of the forums....this used to be a nice place.

The discussions and constant bickering on HG's was the reason I left in the first place - it's just not a nice place to be, and I'm sure Hitched wouldn't have liked to seen itself as associated with it.

There really is no need for this lynch mob....

Not hassle aimed at herself directly but as someone who would only hop on to the FB page once a day for a quick browse, every time I have been on there over the last few weeks there seems to have been people b1tching or fighting & Lynsey or Sherrie having to break it up. Kind of the main reason why many people have backed away from HG but I still think it is a real shame that it has come to this & the mods have felt they had no choice but to close it. But hey, that's just my opinion!

Well that's what all these accusations might as well be.....looking for someone to blame. It was a group, now it's not....that is all there is to it. And that is all I have to say about that here as OT really isn't a nice place to be any more, so I shall be on my way....

    2/10 for that flounce.

It's not about accusations, and there's far more to it than 'it was a group, now it's not'. The group had over 100 members, including 3 admin - 2 of whom were wholly unaware that the other had decided to close the group down without the most basic courtesy of informing all the members. That caused a lot of upset and confusion with individual members thinking they alone had been cast out of the group.

I think a few questions about why all this has happened are completely justified.

A bit like your flounce to DW. Obviously that didn't work out as you all came back...

Hardly a flounce love....just better things to do with my time than hang around here and dwell on this.

Lynsey and Bex made the mutual decision to close the group down, it wasn't one party or the other, it was a joint thing. It wasn't a decision that was taken lightly, and I don't know the ins and outs but I do know the HG's group on FB wasn't a nice place to be, too much bitching and not something that Hitched or those girls should have to put up with - would you want your name associated with something like that? If you would, feel free to go ahead and set up your own....

I have been sporadically posting on DW since it started. I also post on here.

Let's not start an argument, ladies. Isn't worth it.

Lynsey and Bex made the mutual decision, but forgot to include the third mod. They didn't even tell her - she found out when the rest of us did. Many people thought that they had been kicked out of HG - what if they decided to confront Nat about it? She knew nothing about it!

How nice for them to have decided to keep some people in the loop then. I do wonder why the same consideration wasn't extended to the rest of the group or to the 3rd moderater/admin who could have come under a lot of fire for the way the whole thing was handled.

    There's no lynch mob.

I think it's the opinion of most that it would have been courteous to have let members know that the group was disappearing prior to it's deletion. Many of us thought that we must have been excluded from it, which isn't nice at all.

    Oh please?? Seriously?

Some people don't fancy being completely dramatic all the time you know.

As for everyone thinking that might have been pushed out of a group before they realised it was shut...not particularly nice is it?

Sorry, but that made me actually ?. Because of course it's not at all dramatic to just close a group with 100+ members without bothering to tell them first!

That would have played out how exactly??

'Ohh by the way we're shutting the group because all everyone does it ***'

Wait for a barrage of replies about cliques and flounces and WW4 to start??

Either way they were not going to win.

It would have been the courteous yes, instead of people wondering if they had been excluded, like I did.

I'm astonished that you (or anybody) seems to think the way they did handle it is ok. Where is Lynsey's own explanation? Why are you and MrsCoco relaying this information now instead of her standing up, having some backbone and doing it herself?

We're not relaying information for anyone .....we're not puppets, we have minds and opinions of our own, just telling it how it is so you can stop point fingers at any one person. Yes, it might have been courteous to say something, but it also might be courteous to behave in an appropriate manner on a group in the first place so that people don't feel the need to close it down anyway

There was no need for that though. The good thing about FB groups is they don't need people with mod sticks smacking your bum for every miniscule thing like on forums. Sherrie is only a mod on this forum, not on any FB-based group.
