What is your best wedding 'find' :) xx Flash! xx

MrsParsons2b, 13 October, 2010 at 19:16 Posted on Planning 0 32

So, apart from the dress and venue - what would your best wedding find be?

Mine would have to be:

my shoes (faith, ended up deciding to get them on the day Faith went under! Phoned nearly every store in the south west then phoned Oxford Street - luckily my bridesmaid lives in London and we managed to get the last pair - with 20% discount!)

Or, My Necklace (from a lovely jewellery shop in Cornwall - Marie Morrison Designs - saw it, one of a kind - had to try it on and get it straight away!)

Hope you like! Make sure you ladies flash too! Smiley smile xxxx

Fluffy - I ordered them direct from Mary Green of San Francisco. They are lovely - pure silk. I also got pairs for my sisters which say 'Bridesmaid' on them

Bit sad that I'm so excited about a pair of pants! The photographer is going to take a photo of my bottom in them - but that'll be a photo just for us!

These are my presents for my bridesmaids. I was looking & looking for something that would match the colour scheme (hunter green) and was slightly Celtic and found these on the online store of a chain in Scotland. They are beautiful, quite delicate but just really pretty. Hope they don't tarnish between now & the wedding ?

Loving the pants!!!! *runs off to google*

My best wedding bargain was my dress hoops (2 sets of 4 hoops for £12 incl delivery from China!), my dress reduced from £1800 to £695.

I love the fact I found my perfect shoes in exactly the right colour... I ❤️ them!!!

My SHOES!!!!! I've been waiting for a thread like this just so I can show them off!!! lol

I went shopping for a dress at the weekend, and the lady asked if I'd like to try shoes on to get an idea of the length - she then brought out the most beautiful shoes!! I loved them! I kept looking at them rather than the dress!! I asked how much they were and she said £120! Eek!! I didn't want to spend that much on shoes, so she then said I could buy the shop pair for £99! That's still too much especially for shoes that have been tried on loads! When we walked into the next bridal shop my bridesmaid gasped - there were my shoes, brand new, in my size in the sale for £35!!!!! WOOOO!!! I grabbed them straight away (even though there was no-one in the shop that could have bought them before me anyway) - but I wasn't taking any chances!! lol!! They are Italian Ivory silk and can be dyed too!! I've looked online for them and they are still retailing for £120 so I'm well happy!! Anyway - here they are!! Smiley smile (the photo doesn't do them justice! - The diamante bit really sparkles)

Mine would probably be both my dresses. My first one cost £30, but as we're changing our wedding plans,I won't be wearing it on our actual day, it will be worn at our blessing.

My second dress cost £40, and is a tea length dress i'm planning on customising. havent got a pic of that though. But here's a pic of my first dress.

I wouldn't be so brave as to wear a black dress, but I think it will really suit your style. It looks amazing.

Can I ask where the necklace is from? I am looking for a large necklace for my dress as it will be strapless and I need something to balance out my top half.

Mrs lewis i tried on those shoes, they matched my hair accessory and my dress beautifully but i couldnt afford the price tag. Lucky you for getting them in sale.

I was an ebay bargain queen when I was planning, a lot of stuff was a bargain. I think the biggest might have been my £275 bm dress reduced to £80....and that wasnt on ebay but a closing down bridal shop.

Hi Holly_jayne - we are having aqua/turquoise - hopefully with hot pink flowers! how about you? got a slight seaside theme so the aqua just kind of goes perfectly! i am the pinkest girlie girl ever and always assumed i would have a very pink wedding, so not really sure how the aqua came about but i love it - despite my equally pink bridesmaids trying to persuade me otherwise!!!! ?

    Hi Mary!

That sounds gorgeous! We are having a tiffany style theme so aqua/tiffany blue and white was thinking of going hot pink as I'm a pink girly girl too but we saw this combo and felt this was just right for what we wanted!

We'll have to keep our eyes peeled for bargains for each other then as I'm not sure of many others using the aqua colour are you? Have you sorted most of your stuff yet? I'm still in the early stages!

    xx

My dress! The shop i tried it on at, wanted £1200 for it brand new or £1000 for the one in the shop which was a little grubby. I phoned around all my local stockists and got it brand new (not shop one) for £870. It benjamin roberts 1071!
