what is your favourite breakfast at the minute?

janeyh, 20 May, 2008 at 09:50 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 4

I am getting back into making porridge in the morning - 50g oats cooked with water, 75g of blueberries and 15ml of maple syrup - really lovely

i worked it out as 4 points which is pretty good - the maple syrup feels like a great treat

what is your favourite?

That does sound lovely but I have to have my porridge with milk cos it's the creaminess of it that I love the most.

At the moment I'm alternating between Oat Baked Bars (which are made with golden syrup) and come in at 3 pts each and are extremely filling OR Rice Krispies with milk. Rice Krispies are a fantastic cereal choice because they are so damn light, you get a really big portion for 30g - way more than say regular Corn Flakes. There's nothing more demoralising than weighing out a portion of breakfast cereal and it barely covering the bottom of the bowl!! 30g of RK with semi-skimmed milk comes in at 2.5pts. ?

Mmm - the bars sound good - do you have a recipe? we are away next week so something to eat on the go would be handy

i find that cereals other than porridge leave me starving after an hour or so tend to avoid them - i also love stacks of sugar on rice crispies so it would be too much temptation!

During the week I either have 2 weetabix with semi-skimmed milk for 2.5 points or 30g of rice krispies with semi-skimmed milk for 2.5 points.

At the weekend my breakfasts can be anything from boiled egg with toast, 2.5 pts, beans on toast, scrambled egg on toast, mushrooms on toast, turkey rashers, mushrooms, morrisons eat smart sausage with 2 slices of weightwatchers wholemeal bread without butter/marg.

I am into a nice full-fat yogurt (keeps you filled up) and a banana for brekkie. Only 3,5 points. I ve gone off weetabix, its winter food!
