what is your oh wearing?

thefuturemrsclarke, 26 July, 2009 at 20:02 Posted on Planning 0 15

Will he wear exactly the same as other groomsmen or will his outfit be different in some way and if so how?

His suit is slightly different from the bestman and my stepdad as he is refusing to wear any green. So his cravat and handkerchief is ivory and the others is sage green.

They are all wearing black suits (tails) and an ivory waistcoat.

We're not having any groomsmen and so Chris will be the only one wearing whatever... And what that will be is still to be decided. I don't really like him in a suit so i'm trying to convince him to so casual but he wants something very formal so we'll see...

Haven't really got this far yet. He seems to think he's renting a suit? Our wedding is in April and we've got 3 other weddings to attend in June/July/Sep so I think it makes sense to get something really sharp that he can wear to the whole lot? He doesn't own a fitted suit (except a dinner suit) and I think it would be a wise investment.

His BM is scottish and if I can force him into a kilt I will (he swore at his graduation it would be the last time). OH is desperate to wear a kilt too (but is only 1/4 scottish like me so I think it's not really suitable [ho ho]). Nothing is too matchy-matchy at our wedding so as long as it's smart I think it'll be OK?

With the men I think the main criterion is that they can wear it again.

Apparently I can't wear my wedding dress again to my friends' weddings. I mean, what's better to wear to a wedding than a wedding dress ;-)?

I don't know what y oh is going to be wearing (although I'd hazard a guess at it not being out of the ordinary!) butfrom what I can gather it's slightly different to the rest of the boys.

    OH is wearing this

His brother (best man) and dads are wearing the same same suits but without the lining and waistcoat

My brothers and cousin (Ushers) are wearing brown trousers, ivory shirts and orange ties but no jacket. Everybody will have the same button hole.

My OH and best man will have different shirt collars. Apart from that, they'll all be exactly the same! x

All the men are wearing grey prince edward jackets, grey trousers, ivory waistcoats. h2b is wearing ivory cravat and other men are having sage cravats. H2b needs to look different to the best man, as he is his identical twin brother.

My OH wore a purple Paul Smith dress. Looked beautiful. But I wouldn't recommend that for everyone ?

My OH is wearing his kilt... he was born in Scotland but his parents are Irish so he's wearing the Irish National tartan as a nod to them... he and his BM will be wearing the same, there's another usher who will be wearing a black suit and the same tie as them... no one else is allowed to wear a kilt, according to my OH!
