What is your 'something old'?

bb22, 28 August, 2012 at 20:15 Posted on Planning 0 13

I have no idea what mine will be. What is everyone else using as their 'something old'?

Mine was a ring that my late grandmother left me in her will. Actually, it's still on my finger - haven't got round to taking it off yet!

I have a pendant that I have clipped on to my gater that I was given about 15 years ago when I was BM for a friend. Also now might have a sixpence that was my late nan's, my mum only told me she had it last Wednesday!

We lost my friend in February and her parents kindly let me have one of her bracelets which I'm going to ask my florist to incorporate into my bouquet. That way, it's my old and I get to have a part of her with me too.

Mine were my something borrowed as well, gran, great-gran's and mum's wedding rings attached to my bouquet, and also a pearl bracelet my dad had bought me many years ago which also went next to the rings.

Oh has some authentic 1940s pins from his grandparents, so thinking of using one of them and attaching it to my bouquet. My engagement ring was my grandparents engagement ring (nan left it to me in her will) so may class that as my something old!

I have my late grans silver cross from the 1940's which will be in my brooch Boquet - it has huge sentimental value but isn't exactly pretty so I'm glad I've found a way of using it.

Our 2year old daughter Alice is our flower girl and she'll be carrying a small bag with our rings in which was also my grans when she was 'courting' my grandad!

Mine is going to be my gold wedding ring, it's about 104 years old, it was my great grandmothers who i was named after, my mum asked if i would like to have it now for when i get married, we took it to be cleaned and polished and it's come up looking brand new!
