What lardy dinners are you all having?

Sunset21, 7 February, 2009 at 17:00 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 46

I'm living vicariously through you lot as we're still dieting. It's chargrilled chicken here and some oven chips. How very exciting.

If I can be arsed to cook, sausage casserole. If I can't, it's down to the chippy. The latter is winning at the moment.

We're having casserole for sunday dinner. I was prepared to do a roast (I have a joint of pork) but MrSun said he'd be happy with casserole which saves me, I can bung it all in the slow cooker, no pots to wash.

Do you like baked beans? I bunged half a tin in with my turkey chilli in the week and it was lovely.

Salmon with couscous and roasted med veg. Of which my 3 year old daughter ate 3 spoonfuls, and my 18 month old son wouldn't allow past his lips (while wailing like I was brandishing a machete). Sigh. I love mealtimes...

Not really, I'd eat them if someone put them in front of me but I wouldn't have them out of choice. I think it's a textural thing, that and I'm a bit weird.

    Shop-bought gnochhchchchii, not home-made. I'm too lazy.

Baked-beans have no place in a chilli. No place whatsoever. nor in cottage pie. Ever.

Despite also being on a diet, we're having the Tesco meal for two for £9 offer - chicken breasts in madeira sauce, spinach and marscapone, and raspberry panna cotta

Not sure we'll drink the Prosecco tonight, though. Was at an all you can eat Indian buffet last night - with all you can drink red wine, and we're out for a pub lunch tomorrow

Diet not going so well this weekend!

Thai red prawn, mango, butternut squash and sweet potato curry. I made it for H and I Monday night, but we are having it again as it's lovely , we have a guest arriving at 8pm and it is quick, easy but looks impressive! Best of all, can all be cooked in one large pan so that's why I ruled out seabass, salsa verde, crushed new potatoes with pesto and steamed veg-too much faff! Although, I have made a dark choc and raspberry cheesecake for dessert.

Almost the same as Carrie74- Chicken, roasted veg (red onion, courgette, mushrooms, red pepper, cherry tomatoes), roasted halloumi and chilli cous cous. Actually not that lardy for once (except the halloumi).
