What little things make you smile?

samjh87, 14 February, 2013 at 12:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 32

Now that 'Morbid Wednesday' is out of the way what little things do you see/ do that make you smile?

On my walk to work there is a part of the pavement that isn't flat. When it rains it makes a heart shaped puddle. I smile when I walk past it like a dork (I am a dork).

I did take a photo and sent it to H once but he didnt appreciate grey cracked tarmac? No ideas why?

You?

    Seeing someone fall over.

Seeing someone's head get stuck in the tube door.

When someone stands next to a huge puddle in the road and the look on their face when a bus drives through it soaking them.

when someone struts from the loos oblivious of the fact they have bog roll stuck to their shoe.

When a person pushes to get on the bus only to discover they have no credit on their Oyster card.

Gosh I'm such a horrible person!

Listening in to the conversations my kids have first thing in the morning. They don't know I can hear them and they're so lovely and chatty (they must save up all the bickering just for me ? ). This morning they were comparing the dreams they'd each had last night and making plans for half term next week. Apparently I'm taking them to the cinema and the seaside!

That my godson can now say my name very clearly.............. even if he does say it in a really deep voice and we don't know why

That when the above godson and his older sister came to stay at mine last week (I collected them at 2pm) Said older sister had her shoes and coat on at 10am ready and waiting. I love being popular!

    OH singing to himself

    Old people holding hands.

    Buster. Always Buster.

He's a massive arsehole and is such a difficult dog at times but he's bloody hilarious. He's got such a personality.

He has a soft bear that he adores. It's the same size as him and he carries it all around the house. We'll be sitting in a room and he'll disappear - me and H will turn to each other and say 'gone to get bear'. A few seconds later he trots in with him.

Watching the dog walk up to the cat, lie down and try his very best not to be an arse so that the cat gives him so affection. He loves the cat licking his ears, cuddling up to him and rubbing their heads together.

What usually happens is that temptation is just too much and he tries to play with the cat (big black lab vs cat = grumpy cat) which results in the cat being nasty to the dog

That is a good one as l hate it when people push in particularly when they then start looking through bags, pockets etc for their Oyster card...

Hmm l am going with OH's family dog as she is very cute and bouncy which makes me smile. Leaving work on time, children asking inappropriate questions (a friends son was asking the other day why the man sat opposite him looked like Humpty Dumpty!) and leaving the gym when l have finished.

His future girlfriends are gonna have a nightmare with you! ?

Mine is when I have lovely patients. One always insists on giving me a little mini Mars bar every time I go round, I discharged another today and she gave me bottle of bath bubbles as a goodbye gift. It sounds silly but these are normally elderly and/or disabled people on a very low income and it really makes me smile.

Woofbear lying on his back with his legs in the air, also woofbear making his strange noises which he does when he is excited.

Seeing my toothbrush charging because OH put it there for me.

    OH asleep (very cute)

When kids at school unintentionally are funny. I sometimes have to hide my smiles as I don't want to embarrass them.

    I love funkys list.

Saying the same thing at the same time as boyo- or just that look we give each other when we see something and we don't even need to say WFT.

Funky have you really seen that? That is my worst nightmare? Don't you die?

I won't hold the poles on the tubes as I'm too OCD, but once I was thrown forward and lunged for the pole to steady myself. Only instead of grabbing the pole I accidentally grabbed a woman's dreadlocks and pulled her head back and she screamed. That was pretty bad.

Yea you would be surprised the amount of people that don't understand that when the doors beep it means they are closing and have their heads hanging out chatting to someone etc.

Yes, but what happens to the head? Does it stay attached to the body? Or just roll along the platform?

The Victor Meldrew like conversations that I have with my middled aged '13' year old son.

e.g, , , On Tuesday he gets into the car after school. While others kids are throwing snowballs and having the usual snow induced fun. Morgan grumpily gets in the car and says ''This weather turns children into savages".

"While walking the dog one evening, he saw a gang of 'chavs' fooling around and dropping litter. He says " well mom you can see where they are going to end up".

The ticket lady on my train journey home last night!

It is normally some grumpy, rude, smelly man. This time it was a small blonde haired lady who was just so lovely. She said hello when she opened the door and stepped on to the platform and was wishing everyone a good evening when they got off.

I wanted to take her home to cheer me up when I'm said but I think this might have been classed as kidnapping so left her on the train.
