What made you pick the diet plan your following?

SAM83, 18 September, 2008 at 13:47 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 9

I just havent a clue which one to follow. I know they are pretty much all the same in a roundabout way but what made you choose yours?

Thats a good point! Your doing fab. Did you find it "easy" on the ELMM plan?

I've always dieted in the past using the ELMM principles, however my sister has just lost nine stone with WW which gave me the kick up the arse to join. I hadn't really understood the way WW worked before, thinking it was "eat this on this day and this on another" in a similar vein to SW which doesn't appeal to me, however WW is more around reducing your portion sizes and calories, whilst listening to your body's hunger signs and seems a more realistic way to maintain weight loss. I finally joined after having my sister stay for a weekend and realised how easy it was to fit into normal life, and having made the (paid) commitment to go each week it's easier to keep focus than drifting along on my own calorie counting. Plus I love the chocolate bars that you can only buy at meetings ?

I got to goal following ww. I was very depressed about how I looked and extremely self-conscious. I tried to lose weight on my own, but 6lb would come off then 8lb would go on...

I didn't like the sound of SW as they have 'sins'. Now to me this is ridiculous. Ok we shouldn't eat crap all the time but to label food as a sin wouldn't have worked for me. In fact, had I joined SW and ate too many 'sins' I would have felt guilty then probably would have followed that by bingeing.

I joined WW as I wanted to do the points plan. I'd love to say I'd never eat chocolate/ crisps/ sweets etc again but in reality that's a load of nonsense. I lost 3 1/2 stone eating what I wanted. I didn't cut anything out. It taught me about potion control which was my biggest down fall.

I know WW isn't for everyone but it has worked wonders for me. Not only for my weight but for my mind. It has completely changed the way I think about food and also myself.

Very - simply because the exercise means I can eat far interesting things than if I were following a more rigid plan. Must admit though, it's been tough doing the gym and swimming over the past 3 weeks whilst I've not been running. I guess the key is finding a form of exercise that you love (and I hated running at first).

I do WW because there is no SW or RC over here. Ok I'm not the best follower, I did really well but fell off a bit due to stress. Although I think I've picked up some fairly good habits which is a bonus!

I do ww becuase I get it free through my dr's for 36 weeks. otherwise, I probably would have done slimming world as my dad has lost 11 stone on it and kept it off.

I didn't think I was doing a plan, but on thinking about it it think I'm actually doing ELMM. I tried to change my feelings about food and only eat when I'm hungry, and I've been doing lots less excersize - so I think it would be ELMM.

I actually find that because I'm finding more time to excersize, I'm not eating as much - as I don't have as much time to eat. Works well!

I've been doing this for about 6 weeks and lost about 8 pounds, it was a slower start while I got into it, but it's building up pace now, and the excersize gives me lots more energy.
