What month are you getting married in and why?

loves-young-dream, 2 November, 2012 at 06:37 Posted on Planning 0 14

I am thinking April (2015) as I've always wanted a spring theme wedding, but am kind of swaying more into summer now due to the weather?! x

We're getting married on the 7th November 2015. The reason for that is that it'll be our 4 year anniversary of the day we got together. Well, our anniversary is the 5th, but I had issues with the idea of getting married on a Thursday because we're getting married out of town, and I don't want the guests to all have to be leaving early to get home and into bed at a decent hour for work the next day.

April can often be very lovely, sometimes nicer than summer! How about mid-May, it can be really warm and sunny then. We went for June 2013 because family from Texas are coming and it was easiest for them x

    This December. ?

It was going to be next May, but we priced it up and this year is cheaper than next. I've always wanted a winter wedding, so you're never disappointed by the weather.

Plus we have the week of Xmas booked so we didn't need to take any extra holiday. Perfick. x

I chose April because the last couple of years the weather in 'Summer' has been pants but spring has been lovely. Although I'm pretty sure it rained every day between april and october this year.

October. We had wanted september but the venue we wanted has a policy that between april-september you have to hire the hotel exclusively which was an extra £14,000! Therefore, we settled on the first saturday of October! I've never been fussed about having a summer wedding as I've always thought if the weather is rubbish, people are disappointed and if it's great then its potentially too hot. When its hot and sunny, I don't want to be dressed formally and spending my day inside eating a 3 course meal. We felt that september/october time there was no expectation that the weather would be good, and if it was it was a bonus! x

    October.

Like Cinderellabella, we wanted September. We always wanted to marry on a Friday as people can make a bit of a weekend of it.

However the difference between a Friday in September and October in our venue was £5k and so that made our decision for us!

We got married mid December as we fancied a wintery/xmassy wedding. We also got together as a couple around that time and both love xmas! :-)

We are getting married in october - 1 because we love all the autumn colours and will be using them as our theme, 2 because i work in a school and so we needed the school holidays. plus its a lot cheaper to do it out of summer season x

End of March-April has actually been a lot nicer than June-August last few years! Same with Sep-Oct, which is whi we got married October this year.

We were originally going to book an April wedding but decided we didn't want to wait that long, so we brought it forward to this October, and our weather was gorgeous, hottest day fo October and not a cloud in sight! ? xx

March. Because the day we get married we will have been together for 11 years. I'd have loved to have done it on our 10year anniversary but not enough time and money to get our bums in gear!

Plus the past few years March has had lovely weather.. bonus!

We're getting married in April because:

    1. it's school hols of more than a week,

    2. Most of my favourite flowers are spring flowers,

    3. OH struggles to get time off in summer hols and didn't want to rush wedding & honeymoon,

    4. recently weather has been nicer than summer

5, we didn't want to wait too long!

We're getting married 15 December (this year!!), for 2 reasons; firstly my OH suffers terrible hayfever which kind of ruled out summer time, and secondly we lost my gran at the beginning of this year and 15 December would have been her birthday. As soon as we realised this it all came together and was an obvious date!
