A bit silly, but we had 'Someones getting Married' from the Muppets Take Manhattan film..the kids loved it, and we wanted them to be so much involved in all aspects of the planning..it was totally their vote that won,..we obviously had a few giggles from guests when the music began playing..heehee

Although i did read somewhere a 'reason' why people don't use them anymore:

The bridal chorus is the music that accompanies the couple to bed in Lohengrin

The bridal march is the music for a farcical wedding in Midsummer nights dream...

Oh well Smiley laugh I still love them both anyway. And i'm a big Shakespeare fan so using The bridal march is nice.

Life, In a Nutshell by Barenaked Ladies. It played in the car once and OH just went "hmm that's us," and this was before we even got together. There really could be no other song that fits.

We spent ages listening to lyrics and this is what we decided on:

To walk down the aisle - The Beatles Here There & Everywhere

For signing of the register - Thank you by Led Zeppelin

Walking back down the aisle - Fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra

Just over 4 weeks to go!

We're having a harpist (civil ceremony) and "Here comes the Bride" and Mendelssohn's Wedding March do not sound proper on a harp, which I'm a bit gutted about.

I'm walking in to Trumpet Voluntary which sounds lovely on a harp.

My friend had a harpist and walked in to this song for her weddin this year and it ws lovely - you are right it does work really well on a harp Smiley smile

I'm another Canon in D bride, I don't care that it's a popular choice, I think it's a beautiful piece of music and OH loves it too. I get all *squeee* whenever I hear it!

I LOVE Brighteyes for a wedding the lyrics are just divine. "This is the first night of my life, I swear I wsa born right in the doorway" That sums up how I feel about walking in to my waiting H2B. Sadly we don't know any good singers and I think the effect would be lost in a string quartet. I wanted the lyrics as a reading in the ceremony but the OH thought it was a bit 'wierd', boys huh?!

I'm walking in to Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Romanze. Everytime I hear it I cry...

I'm walking in to 'Dance of the Blessed Spirits' by Glock. We have no idea what we're leaving to-probably let H2B decide as I'm making him suffer instumental versions of Disney songs for the rest of the ceremony music

I'm having Sigur Ros, Hoppipolla, it's the theme music from Planet Earth (I think)

to walk back out together we're having a piece of music from my all time favourite movie, Legends of the Falls, it's called Alfred moves to Helena. OH has edited it so we walk out nearer to the end of the music as it's slightly more dramatic than the start.

took us ages to find something that we both liked.

Hey girls, you've got some really beautiful choices of music in here. I just can't help getting all teared up when I think of some of them, and especially when I think about my own one. I am not getting married until April so hopefully I'll be able to immune myself to it by then!!

The guests will be piped into the venue which is actually visitor centre of the Castle of Mey (the visitor centre is beautiful inside with wooden beams and a fireplace with the queen mums crest)

I have chosen the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's version of 'A Groovy Kind of Love' (Phil Collins) to walk in to, then after the ceremony we are having the Beatles version of 'All You Need is Love' for right after the ceremony, and signing the register followed by Madness with 'It must be Love' if we need longer for the register for photos etc. Then getting piped up to the main castle where the guests will go in and get champagne while we get more photos done.

eeek so scared at the thought of walking in in absolute floods of tears!! lol
