Oh God, I'm terrible at finding new music. Such a creature of habit. I like Black Stone Cherry, Of Mice and Men and Lower Than Atlantis...and, er...Taylor Swift? Smiley smile

I love her 1989 album! I liked some of her older stuff but 1989 is a really strong album.

I'm gonna sound like an old woman now but I'm just not that keen on a lot of the new music these days!

Yeah, Swifty is amazing at the moment - a real imperial phase for her. Being a Radio 1 listener and a Popjustice reader, I'm far more up on current pop music than anything else at the moment. Any new rock/metal I hear tends to be stuff that H plays when he DJs, and a LOT of what he plays is 90s/early 00s nu-metal.

Am I the only person in the world who is annoyed by Taylor Swift? I appreciate she's an incredibly talented lady, but I am sick of her TBH.

    Ed Sheeran's X is a good album, as is Pharell's G I R L.

I really like Taylor's first two albums, but the newer stuff leaves me pretty cold to be honest. My two daughters love her though and went to see her at the O2 last year. I've jut discovered Jason Aldean.

Nope. I can't stand her either.

She strikes me as one of those girls who would probably *** about you behind your back. Oh and I'm sick of her singing about men.

Well let's face it, a great majority of pop songs are about romantic love. Seven of the current top ten are, and none of them are her.

Yeah...sometimes. But I think it's more that people focus on her love life and the songs that that produces. That's what Shake It Off is about, after all ("I go on too many dates, but I can't make 'em stay, that's what people say"). I know that most young-ish women in the public eye have their romantic lives scrutinised, she just seems to come off badly from it.

Is it sad that I no longer have any idea what is in the top ten? Royal Blood is the closest I've got to new music recently

Oh, and as much as it makes me cringe to say it, I really like the last couple of Taylor Swift songs!

    This!
On the new music front then l am not listening to much "new" stuff. Just stuff that is new to me if you see what l mean. The most amount of new stuff l have listened to are Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Foals (bit mixed) and Florence + the machine (l am really liking her new single). I am listening to The Black Keys more, l downloaded their most recent album a while ago and liked it. I have listened to it more as well as some of their other stuff and l now l really like them.

I think people are too harsh on Taylor Swift - men like Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Sam Smith all write songs about their relationships but they don't get the hassle that she does.

    Yep, exactly this.

When I checked the top ten earlier I knew all the songs in it, but that's what comes of being a Radio 1 listener.

I love Taylor Swift. I think she's an awesome role model, if I had a teenage daughter I'd be far happier her being a fan of Taylor Swift than most other female pop stars. I like that she's very clearly a talented songwriter as well as a singer, she's classy and she's very in control of her career. She's said herself that a lot of her songs (especially her latest single) are taking the piss out of the way the gossip mags/websites portray her. She seems like a genuinely nice person but the kind of person you want to hate because she's pretty and successful and therefore you think that she must be a b!tch because no one is that perfect.

Other than Taylor Swift, I'm really enjoying Hozier's album.

I don't know, she just seems really whingey about men. Maybe she's never actually been in love but it just seems like she hasn't got anything nice to say!

What about Shake It Off? 22? Style? You Belong With Me? Love Story? No man-whingeing in any of those. In fact I can think of more hits that aren't whingeing than are (the ones I can think of that are are We Are Never Getting Back Together, Trouble and Blank Space) - am I missing some? I appreciate we're down to specifics here but the point I'm trying to make is that it seems like an unfairly gained reputation.

Enough of me being a Taylor stan though. I also like Charli XCX and Iggy Azalea.

It probably is. There's just something about her I can't stand so it wouldn't matter what she did, I wouldn't like her.

Anyway, I feel like I'm sidetracking the thread with my hatred... Sorry!! Back to the actual question...

New music - My last three downloads were:

    Sia, Elastic heart

    Karen Harding, Say something

    Indiana, Solo Dancing

Ha ha I'm not a fan either but that's because she's rich and talented with legs up to her armpits. Whilst I'm poor, not very talented with stumpy legs. Me, jealous? Nah!
