What next ????

Chidders, 11 January, 2011 at 08:48 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi All,

We are getting married June 2012, which i thought was ages away, and reading in magazines and advice on websites etc, they say planning for a wedding should begin 12 months before. HOWEVER, you guys are all way organised!!!! And since reading the threads on here, I can not believe how many things there are that have to be done, and the planning that is involved. So all I have done, is pay the deposit on the venue, and booked the church though still got fill in the form! And that is it. Plus I have the added complication of living in Dorset but we are getting married back in our home town in Shropshire 200 miles away. We go back every 6 weeks so i think i need to get organising so I can make appointments for when we are back there.

So, after all that, could anyone please advise the next 3 things I should get organised?????? And if anyone can recommend anyone in the Shrewsbury area that would be a great help!!!

Thank you xxx

Photographer/Videographer(if you are having one) is a must. Have you a colour scheme in place - maybe start getting some ideas and also searching the internet for ideas on style of wedding dress etc.

Just what the others said really,

Photogrpaher is a must next on your list, then after that cars (if needed), entertainment and flowers.

Am also a June bride ? and we booked our church/venue/tog/cars 1st then over Christmas my OH wanted to have a quick look at suits and we ended up paying for them as they gave us a really good price, now were looking at Entertainment and Flowers. And am very excited to soon start looking at different styles of dresses!

Also have a think of what kind of wedding your after, if you have a theme in mind or colour scheme in mind, sometimes it helps if you have something in your head, then as you looking through internet you seem to see loads of things that would go with your colour scheme!

Oh, were also on the ball at the mo about invitations, but only because the lady who will be doing ours gets booked up really quickly!

For us, the three most important things were venue, a TOG and the evening entertainment.

Definitely your entertainment. For me 2012 is looking busy and already receiving enquiries for 2013!!!!

PS Make sure you get a signed contract.

I can recommend taylor and barnes photography, I think they are amazing I love their style of photgraphy, In fact I booked with someone else, and when I meet the two girls and seend their portfolio I Had to Change I thought they were that brill

Here is their website: https://taylorbarnesphotography.co.uk/ you also get two for the same price as one tog as they only started last year. Hope that helps but as the others have said defo Tog is most important Smiley smile xxxxxxx

Wedding fairs bring togther many vendors you may be interested in - normally there are quite a few photographers at each event showing thier previous work and you get to talk to them to see if you 'connect' with them.
