What 'reading' are you having?

sherry, 6 October, 2008 at 16:38 Posted on Planning 0 5

I'm doing a search now as we have the Rev around on Wednesday night.

So what reading/s are you having?

I am having 'On your Wedding day' which is quite a popular one as I know a number of people who are having it on here. I have a load I could e-mail you if you like but none are religious as we are having a civil ceremony.

An old fave for us - We're having 1 Corinthians, verses 4 to 8 and 13

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails 13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

And then we're having a fab reading - I Wanna Be Yours by John Cooper Clarke - an old punk! - http://johncooperclarke.com/Pages/yours.htm

We are so lucky our minister is fab and she's completely up for whatever we want to do!

Edited to say - Sherry thanks for this post. You've made me reread our readings again and reminded me why we're getting hitched. Have been a bit bogged down in family politics recently x

We're using 'Us two' by AA Milne and 'The passionate shepard to his love' which is in the 'poems' section on this website...

We didn't have any readings as I didn't really like any I heard, they didn't really mean anything to us so we'd be having them just for the sake of having them. Also I kinda wanted the ceremony to be as short as poss as I thought I'd be so nervous!
