Beatty (full name Beatrice) doesn't like the names that the others suggested.

? @ Luthien. Fatgirl, she's an old Austin. Cute huh? My fave suggestion so far is Dave (like that, WT?!). Will see how I feel when I pick her up. I have nooooo idea what it's like to drive an old car without power steering and doesn't go faster than 50mph. Hayullllllp! ?

Oooh weird, Maude and Mildred were the first names that occurred to me too - but then the car telephoned me to say that her name is Beatrice and definitely not any other name especially not Dave.

Mine have all been fellas (look great at first but then start emitting strange smells after a while, become unreliable and I have to get rid of them ?). For me it would have to be Steve. Steve Austin, geddit? But wait, he could run at 60mph... ?

ETA: It's not an old car, btw, it's a classic car. Got to get the terminology right or the nerds aficionados at the Austin A30/A35 Owners Club won't speak to you. ?

    I think:

    Sir Bonnington-Smyth

    or

    Mrs Pedergahst

Seem like a last name car to me.

LOL @ "smelling after a while", very good ?

Anna belle, I quite like the idea of Mrs something, that could work!

Will sleep on it and see how she introduces herself to me at the weekend. I do hope she's well-behaved, whatever her name.... ?

Sorry to bounce an old thread, but have just come back to it - Sparkley, as you know I was going to go with Jane Austin ? but I'm really tempted by Hilda now, that was my granny's name! ?

Two days till I get her! Argh, need to sort out insurance toute de suite!

    Oh Flumpums, she's beautiful!

It must be a granny-chic name, Dorothy and Maude are my favourites so far.

How about Winnie, Matilda, Hilda, Greta or Felicity?
