I'm getting married at 2pm in a civil ceremony - i would say half 1 is fine. remember you still need to allow for travelling time between your church and reception venue.

I think 1.30 is fine, not too early that u have to get up at the crack of dawn, and not too late that people are starving come dinner time. ive been to weddings before in the late afternoon where people have asked whens the food before the congratulations. one person actually said, congratulations, wheres the food? the just married couple where not impressed

I havent booked our church yet but was planning on 1 o'clock. Most weddings I have been to were at that time.

I think 1.30 is fine. Put it this way, you'll have less time to worry beforehand and more time to enjoy yourselves afterwards!!!

I think 1.30 is fine - we would have loved later but as we are marrying on a Sunday (and it has to be a Sunday as we are having our son christened immediately after the wedding ceremony) we are restricted to 12.45 ?

Just as well there's only me and one BM to get makeup and hair done and church isn't too far from my parents or we'd be up at a ridiculous time in the morning!

Also - I figured that as the day goes so quick, starting a bit earlier is a positive thing

I'm getting married at 2pm. I'm hoping that that should be just right. Time for people to have some lunch first, and time for photos after.

    1:30 will be fine!

We're getting married at 4pm, mainly so we only have to feed people once!

We are getting married at 12 but then we are not having an evening do so the day will be finished by 6pm. I think 1.30 is fine, i'm starting to think mine is a bit earlier but i figure i'll probably wake up at silly o'clock anyway so theres no harm :-)

Omg im worried now! our ceremony is booked for 12.15pm!!! Its only civil service so wont take long, then there is no travel to reception as its opposite! I told the hotel our timings though and they said that was all good, pleanty of time for photos etc then allowing for drinks, a good couple of hours for food, and hour to freshen up and then for the eve to start at 7pm.

We got married at 1 and to be honest it was a nice time. We didn't have too much hanging around in the morning, we got up about 8 had time to go to the hair dressers and get make up done at home. We sat down to eat about 3.30pm after the service and some photos. It all ran really smoothly and by the time we'd finished eating about half 5/6 we had just enough time to switch the room around for the start of the evening do at 7pm.

Hiya, we're getting married at 1pm. Wanted to make a whole day of it as it goes so quickly and everyone is travelling up to us in the North so will see them for longer.
