hi all, we have found our venue and I have just tried to book the registrar....typically they are pretty booked up, even though we are eighteen months in advance - the choice was either 12pm or 4pm - I thought 4pm was pretty late and the whole day would go by in a flash.....so I went for 12, but now...

Hi all,

we have found our venue and I have just tried to book the registrar....typically they are pretty booked up, even though we are eighteen months in advance - the choice was either 12pm or 4pm - I thought 4pm was pretty late and the whole day would go by in a flash.....so I went for 12, but now worried that its too early. Will people get bored?? I am hoping that if we feed and water them enough it should be ok. What does everyone think?

2pm, I would have preferred a bit earlier but that's the best compromise ?

    4.00pm.

Initially I thought I'd want it earlir but the main bad thing about weddings I find is getting there earlier (around lunchtime) and not eating till really late!

We are getting married at 4:30pm. I am a bit worried its a bit late now but at the time we saw it as a way to save money because everyone is coming to the wedding and we only need to feed them once, we are on a limited buget.

We got married at 12:00pm and so glad we did.

We were worried about people being hungry but after we had got the group shots out of the way we had loads of Canapes for people to nibble on the staff just kept bringing them so everyone said that they were not hungry. We then sat down to lunch at 3:00pm and then people had a couple of hours to themselves and to explore the castle grounds whilst myself and husband had a few more photos taken. It also meant we had time before the evening guests arriving to socialise with the day guests. The break between was fantastic and so relaxed, everyone commented on how nice it was to not go from the meal straight into the evening and very few people disappeared (which I was worried about). It also gave people the chance to freshen up and change if they wished.

I loved getting to wear my dress for over 12 hours and the day went quick enough - dread to think how quick it would have gone if we had got married later.

As for morning timings. I found myself with an hour where I was twiddling my thumbs and putting the hoover on as I was so bored! Luckily my SIL did my hair (she is a hairdresser) so came early and I did my own make up as I am very picky so wanted to do it myself. I could have been ready to go easy at 10am!

I'm getting wed at 11am. For the reception we all have to be seated for 2pm so 11am is the latest time i could have the ceremony as the venue is a 40min journey away.

We get married at 2pm. It was the usual time for the hotel so we went with what they told us.

Thanks for all of those responses...wow....I didnt realise that 12pm would be such a common time to get married. That eases my mind! ?

It will mean less time to get ready - but also, I know I will be nervous and I will wake up insanely early anyway...so less time to hang around being anxious too!

We are planning to have some live music in the evening as well as a DJ later on...so at least there will be something to break up the evening and keep people amused too.

    xxx
