what to do next 2017 Brides!

Tigsy87, 23 June, 2015 at 10:37 Posted on Planning 0 5

Ok so I am a bit of a Bridezilla! I always told my fiance when he proposed that he was to expect me to be in full wedding planning mode!

We get married 27/05/2017 - so just under 2 years. So far we have venue booked, photographer, make up, music, photobooth, I have found my dress but need 50% deposit so I am saving, I have also found person to do my cake so going cake tasting in a couple of months.

What can I do next? I am a bridezilla so planning a wedding is my absolute dream and I just love doing it. Think I would love to plan weddings for a living!

What has everyone else booked?

xx

I'm the same date as you and I've just booked the venue!

I have a full on year this year so I'm not doing anything else until September Smiley smile

I don't think there is much else you can do except spend lots of time on pinterest! We booked 18 months in advance and I've had times where I've done nothing for the wedding in months then times when I suddenly have quite a bit to do. Don't do everything too soon or they'll be nothing left by the time it gets closer.

When we started planning we had 3 years until our big day (it's now less than 12 weeks away!)

We jumped in feet first and got lots of the big things booked, then took it easy for a bit. I spent a lot of time on pinterest gathering ideas, starting on DIY projects and researching for things that didn't need booking until nearer the time.

I'm glad we paced ourselves a bit or I imagine that i'd have been sitting there twiddling my thumbs frustrated with 12 months still to go.

If you've got most of the big stuff booked, my advice would be to enjoy the planning as much as possible as it passes by in the blink of an eye (doesn't feel like it at the time, mind)

If you're planning to have save the dates, it might be worth searching for designs you like? Videographers tend to get booked up too so if you were thinking about having one, watching some sample films would be a good idea too.

I'm the exact same as you but ours is July that year!

so far I've booked the venue, photographer, videographer, music for the day, transport and booked registrar.

maybe you could look at transport yet if your having any? Or start to look for your stationary x

    Thanks for everyones advice,

Not needing transport as I am getting ready at the venue, so cutting a small cost there but we are thinking about putting on buses for people to get out to venue at night, as its about 30 minutes from our home town. But my friend has a bus company so I'm hoping that we get a good price! lol!

Yeh I am loving pinterest at the moment! I am getting so many ideas, but I am scared to start doing anything creatives like centre pieces etc incase I then change my mind lol!!

I'm now looking at having my dress made as my original dream dress is a heck of alot of money so I am talking to a couple of dress makers to recreate my dream dress with a few tweaks to make it customised!

Excited to see all the flashes from fellow 2017 brides! xx
