What to do with old videos?

bigpants, 19 November, 2008 at 19:35 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

After a bit of a clear out of cupboards, I have two bin bags worth of videos which I really don't want to bin and not sure the charity shop would want. What do you do with old videos? Would children's hospitals have a need for them or are they all using DVDs too? (obviously wouldn't send the 'Hellraiser-type' videos to them!)

I often see them on freecycle, so assume some people still want them...

i saw some in a charity shop 3 for £1 the other day, so i'm assuming they aren't great sellers

I got rid of a load of mine on freecycle and some more to the bloke on freecycle who took my video off me

I still have a few left which I didnt really want to get rid of (not sure why as I cant now watch them - no video)

We still use videos (childrens ward) because our DVD players were pinched and over time all the DVDs were pinched too. Everything 'nice' is stolen sadly. So we went back to videos as nobody wants them lol. I think the play people take up to cert 15 for the teenagers. I know childrens A&Es have video players too, and the wards wouldn't offer any videos to them... So maybe worth phoning round?
