What type of veil

Rhoslyn, 5 November, 2012 at 19:50 Posted on Planning 0 3

Hi,

Just wanted a bit of advice regarding the veil. I originally didn't think I wanted a veil but when I tried the dress on with a lace 3/4 veil my mum and bridesmaids cried at the fitting.

I've been investigating and quite fancy a bird cage veil with a vintage brooch or flower on the side as I like the vintage style (I'm a bit of a 1950s girl).

OH has no opinion other than he thought a birdcage veil was actually a birdcage stuck on your head.

My dress is vintagey but not too much and not sure which would look best:

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Bless your OH - that's kinda sweet.

I think you should have whatever you like. I like both types, and think both would look nice with your dress. If you're getting married in the autumn or winter, I'd say brooch over flower, but flower in summer.

Oh that's lovely. It's so nice to see something a bit different. I'm a bit traditional so have a regular veil, but if you love it, go for it!

I like that, made me laugh.

The bird cage gets my vote - see the pick in my signature

Hi, I think either, but my daughter got married in Sept and had a birdcage one which looked amazing. It is more vintage style. I have a few on my website which you may like

    See what you think.
