OH bought you if you remember?

H and I were talking about this last night and the first thing we bought each other stuff for was Christmas and I bought him a shirt or something. He bought me a dog teddy, Westlife album ?, perfume and a BT Cellnet voucher for my new phone. He also got me a card which said something about wanting to be the only person to keep me warm that winter with an illustration of 2 people in bed. He was my first "steady" boyfriend so I had to display it much to his embarrassment and disgust as I was 15 at the time and he thought my parents would be horrified - I hadn't even thought about it I was just pleased to have a boyfriend ?

When we were first going out and still living at home and paying something ridiculous to our parents we bought stupid presents, I remember buying H a hi fi system, he bought me a video recorder and portable tv for my bedroom etc. Times have certainly changed although he is still rather generous, bless him.

We got together in November so our first gifts were for Christmas. He bought me a diamon encrusted gold cross, a la Victoria Beckham. I don't wear it very often now as the cross is about 3inches tall. He also bought me some CDs that I'd been after, Tom Jones Reload and a Madonna one.

I bought him a shirt and some shoes and cooked him Christmas dinner.

For our first Christmas I bought him a Rangers FC watch, a DVD (Mission Impossible II as it was the movie we went to see on our first date), some aftershave and some clothes.

He bought me a Charles Rennie MacIntosh bracelet, perfume and a Me to You teddy. My birthday is a few days after Christmas so he bought me the earrrings to match the bracelet he got me.

However the first thing he ever bought me was a CD (Anastacia - I'm Outta Love) as it was my favourite song of the time. As we had a long distance relationship everytime we went came to visit one another we always brought a gift. The first thing I ever bought him was a robot dog thing. I was 15 and he was 16.

My first present was a pink scarf which i would never wear from m&s for my birthday, which is 3 days before christmas. that was it, one pink scarf needless to say i was a bit disappointed! (have always been an ungrateful cow! ?) he made up for it come christmas day and explained that birthdays were never really celebrated in his parents house! 6 years later its a different story, he now realises lots of presents = one happy little miss! ?

We didn't buy each other presents the first Christmas we were together, so the first christmas present was diamond earrings. That was followed a year later by my engagement ring ...

I keep pointing out to him that he started a bit of a trend and I should always get diamonds for Christmas but he didn't go for it - last year I got a slow cooker (it was what I wanted and had asked for btw)

I think this year I might be getting another diamond. Well put it this way I chose one when in Dubai and we bought it so if I don't get it I'll be intrigued who did ?

    I bought him Boss Aftershave.

    It was for Valentines day

An impormptu gift of a gold bracelet after we'd been together a few weeks, then a gold necklace for valentine's, and for my birthday he got me a mountain bike! These days, almost 10 years on, my birthday present was a bottle of cleanser and some blemish gel, and I've mentioned that I need a new electric toothbrush so will expect that for Chrstmas ?" />

To be fair, since living together I was desperate for him to become a little less spend-happy. If there's nothing I need, I'd prefer to go out for a nice meal or put money towards a weekend away.

It was for christmas - we'd only been going out for a few weeks at this point. he bought me a mahoosive version of one of the 7 dwarfs and tickets to see Miss Saigon. he had no idea if i liked either and it was a bit of a gamble really. i liked the tickets, not so keen on the dwarf, although it has grown on me (after six years) and is normally displayed in the spare room wearing dodgy hats.

i bought him a scotland rugby jersey. oooh, the romance!

I think it was a board game and he game it to the entire family rather than just me - we had only been going out 2 days though. I bought him a wooden driftwood sculpture which we still have. I did better for my birthday (26th Dec) - he got me a dozen red roses and a birthday 'piggin' pig.

My first present was on our second date, he bought me a bag I liked but couldn't afford (it was £35 in French Connection so not prada) as he didn't like the one I had. ? My mum was mortified I had accepted it so early on!

For Christmas, we had only been going out for 24 days so he didn't want to come on too strong with presents so I got a large gift box with a Christmas teddy, a tin of Roses tipped into the box and Now 37. ? I bought him aftershave. His gifts had improved by the next year as I got a diamond necklace. ?

When we'd been together about 6 weeks he got me some iPod socks (sock things to put my iPod in, not socks with iPods on, that would be weird). It was a present for passing an exam.

We got together in February and by our first Christmas together we were engaged and living together, so our first Christmas presents to each other were probably boring house stuff.

That's hilarious, because I do exactly the same thing! Mr P's first gift to me was a watch which he bought in Zurich. He bought himself a Jornada PDA which cost about 400 quid (at least that's what he told me - probably more!)

He never used the bloody thing - ever! So now, whenever he buys something that doesn't get used, up comes the Jornada ... everytime! ?

Poor bloke. It's a bit old hat now, but I just can't help myself! It only came up 2 days ago as well ?

PS. I couldn't remember how to spell Jornada, so I asked him. 'Tut .. what do you want to know that for .. Tut' ?

We got together 14th December so the first present from him as a boyfriend (we were good friends before we got together) was a beautiful purple crystal vase - very much my taste so I was suitably impressed. He also got my a nightie which was the right size!

For the first birthday we were together I got a Tiffany necklace.

It was for Valentine's. A Ministry of Sound album. Clubbers Guide to Trance I think. I only remember because he's a proper indie/rock boy and it must've been really hard for him to buy something like that!

We got together end of October so Christmas was our first present exchange. He bought me a fancy pants DVD player (mine had broken) some perfume, and a couple of books. I think I did him a small pile of things with books, bottle of whisky, clothes etc.

It was my birthday about a month and a half after we met. He bought me some Gucci perfume. He did ask what perfume I liked first though, as he wasn't sure!

About 6 months after we met, it was his 40th and I bought him a Diesel watch and a DVD recorder!!

The first present he gave me was a bottle opener. The first weekend he came to see me he broke mine (although, fortunately, that didn't stop us getting in the wine). He was so mortified he bought me a new one!

As memory serves, a gold claddagh ring from Argos. (We were young and the budget was far smaller!) I wore it as my 'something old' when we got married. ?
