What will you do with your engagement ring?

shell657, 13 June, 2012 at 18:52 Posted on Planning 0 28

Will you wear it on your wedding day?

I dont mean through the service but for the rest of the day. I only ask as when i look at some peoples wedding photos in various places they only tend to be wearing their wedding ring, no ER in sight.

I was planning on having my CBM wear my ER so i could put it on once the service has finished. Whats everyone else doing?

I'm putting mine on my right hand and then moving it over after the ceremony probably in the car on the way to the reception.

Bikinis are similar to the briefs but with less fabric at the sides. Though bikinis provide good rear coverage, but not as full as you get with the brief. This underwear style is the most widely worn style among women worldwide.Over 2000 different styles of ladies lingerie, bras, panties, G String, underwear, shapewear, nightwear, loungewear and sleepwear are in stock at Studio Europe from premium Australian and European lingerie & sleepwear brands including Pleasure State, Simone Perele, Lola Luna and ID Sarrieri. http://www.studioeurope.com.au/

Which I'm sure is really useful information if the OP is planning to keep her engagement ring in her knickers...

Mine is so tiny it doesn't fit anyone else so mine will be on my right hand also.

Same here, mine's a H and it won't go near my friend's knuckles. So, the right hand for me too I guess...

Wait... why can't I just wear it like normal? I don't think I've ever seen anyone remove it for the ceremony!

No you aren't! Mine doesn't fit my right hand either....well only ,my litle finger. i think my daughter who is my MOH will have to wear mine

Venart - you are supposed to present a hand without rings to be married....not totally sure why though!

Because it needs to go your hand first, before engagement ring. They say it's 'closer to your heart'...

Although I've seen a few rings worn the other way round, guess it's personal preferance to what looks/feels better to you.

I didn't wear my ER all day, took it on when getting ready and left it in the side. Didn't see the need to wear it or put it on my ring finger after........ When peopl asked to see my ring I showed the my wedding ring. I wear them both now though.

I love mine but was totally taken aback by OH's reaction. I've had to fight it off him a few times and he'll come up to me and touch my face and stretch his hands infront of me until i realise he's wearing it!!
I'm going to either put it on my right hand (it fits quite well, I often wake up with it on my other finger,i must take it off in my sleep!!) or i'll give it to my brother/mum to hold.I though it was because you had to have your ring finger free as your WR went 'closer to your heart'

I had planned to wear it on my right hand - I think it's the safest option but I have freaky hands...my right is bigger than the left ha so i cant get the ring on - guess I'll be leaving mine with my mum but putting it straight back on as soon as the ceremony is done!

Venart, the reason for the tradition of not wearing a ring on your left hand at the ceremony is because if you do it could symbolise a marriage already in place, therefore when you enter the church you are supposed to be coming to your husband as a non-married virginal *cough* maiden. Its an old tradition, from the days before engagement rings were given out willy nilly.

to the OP, I think I will probably give it to my mum or step mum to look after. It fits my right hand but is so uncomfortable that I couldn't be doing with it, especially if my hands swell up a bit, which they do at the first sign of being warm.
