This is pie in the sky for me for the foreseable but H and I were discussing tonight where we go if money were no object.

My first reply was Colorado - Maine. For the only reason that it is 'one of the places I must visit before I die' and that is only due to my love of Stephen King novels and that most his books are based in Maine so I feel a sort of affiliation for the place.

I should add though that being almost see-through white I am not a beach or sun lover ?

H predictably said his first choice would be Monaco (at Grand Prix time).

Where do you most want to visit, and why?

My dream destinations would be Borneo to see the orangutangs and Rwanda to see the Gorillas (Rwanda being my first choice)

Definately India atm, with South America, Italy, Bora Bora and West Coast America up there too.

H and I did a month of backpacking in SE Asia for our honeymoon, and all it made me want to do is take a year out and travel wherever the wind took me *sigh*

The other place I'd like to add to my list is Hawaii. Have any Hitchers been there? I'd love to know it was worth the trip!

We were having a tidy and declutter today and H said we shouldn't throw away our guide for The Maldives "because that's somewhere we might go back to isn't it?" YIPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!! Didnt see that one coming ....

We did hawaii in november. stayed on Oahu on waikiki beach. Went to visit diamond head, pearl harbour and the dole pineapple plantation. Oahu is a good island for the pearl harbour experience. I wasnt going to go there but so glad that h twisted my arm.

We flew to Hawaii the big island to view the volacanoes and that is something that has to be done. What a shame to fly all the way there and not see them!

My lasting memory was sitting looking at an unbelievable sky and stars, thinking that there was nothing to the north or south of us until the poles and that we were nearly halfway around the world.

The sky is like nothing else. I want to go back next year. Are hoping to tag it onto a new york holiday. It was very expensive though once there as its catered for the Japanese. (or so we felt)

Can you tell I loved it? I can still smell it now!

I have been lucky enough to have lived in a few countries - America, Cyprus, Turkey, the UAE.

I have loved my travelling which has taken me to : NZ, Australia, Venice, New York, Florida, Cambodia, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kerala, lots of places in Turkey and all over Great Britain.

My "to-do" list includes Vietnam and Laos, Bali (going in September) and Malaysia. I really want to go visit my friend who is living in Chile and combine that with a big South America tour which I am hoping to do next summer. I am doing a safari in Kenya in January and would love to tag on a side tour to Namibia.

I would love to be able to afford to take a year out. My friend has just done this and her tour has been amazing.

I need to win the lottery, but living where I am has its advantages, in that the Far East is about 6 hours or so from us, Africa about 4 and India about 2. I really want to travel some more - China is almost doable as a weekend destination!
