What would your dream job be?

*Pugsley*, 27 October, 2013 at 18:12 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 36

OH and I were just discussing this.

If every job paid the same wage, what job would you have?

I'd like to work for a charity. My sister works for Oxfam and is currently living in Lebanon helping with the Syria crisis & helping to organise the refugee camps. I often wish I did a job that made a difference.

OH would like to do something to do with sport, be a snooker player or something like that.

If I could earn the same amount as I do now I'd be a support worker for disabled people.

I'd love to be a makeup artist or an interior designer. Anything creative.

I would be a theatre actress.

I'm in the current feeling if 'wanting to make a difference' I wanted to be a vet growing up but decided at 16 that I was going to switch my science a levels for English/theatre studies/media studies/performing arts. I wish my parents had taken more if a stand!

I think I would do something with rescue animals or something creative/design related.

I think my OH would be involved in Formula 1 engineering somehow.

I'd be a singer! But I'm not confident enough!

id probably go back to my first passion which would be something involving the study and teaching of Semitic language texts. I studied for 3 years and loved every day! I'd like to teach it at university because I know it greatly enhanced my overall religious and theological study.

I would do the same job but maybe working internationally for a luxury hotel chain that would pay for me to travel around the world to inspect (and stay) in their hotels.

Sounds stupid but if I had the money I would love to open a no kill shelter specifically for cats, with different rooms depending on their needs and personalities etc. anyone who has a litter they don't want could bring to me without the worry of them getting hurt or sold on for profit.

If I didnt have the money ideally I would like to do research into the causes of autism as its close to my heart as my brother is autistic. Part of why I am doing a psychology degree is because of him.

    Silversmith or folk singer

Oddly, a lot of your dream jobs are close to what I already do. That's just weird.

I'd probably run a dog sanctuary - re-homing those who could be re-homed and keeping the ones which couldn't, with plenty of land for them to run and play, lots of toys and comfy sofas/beds for them to live out their days.

Technically, given my interest & passion in computers, my answer should be to say I'm doing my dream job already, but as I'm having another bad work day, at the moment cleaning toilets for a living sounds very attractive.

    Restaurant or international hotel critic.

Combination of the two would be great. Basically I love holidays and food!

I'd like to work a variety of jobs - part time restaurant critic, part time travel writer, weekends I would work backstage of a theatre production doing odd jobs.

Lots of interesting dream jobs. I love how many people want to make a difference. Charitable jobs do pay ***.

It has nothing to do with pay, and everything to do with impossibility due to qualifications, experience, and networking, but I would LOVE to be a curator in the Europe and Prehistory department at the British Museum.

I'd like a variety of jobs too. I'd like to make my cake hobby into a part time business.

I don't really know what my dream job is, maybe something along the lines of charity, social care, teaching. I'd be happy in a support/office role too, which is what I'm working towards. I'd really like a nice team of people I work with, which I think is really hard to find.

I would ideally do this part time too so I can still have my own business.

Yea, although charity jobs can and often will pay the same wage as I'm already on, I just don't have any qualifications that'd be useful & I can't afford not to work and study :-(

I have it all planned. A big dog rescue but it'd be homely and full of love and cuddles for them (I know I know... *passes the sick bucket*) And adjoined on the farm would be a tea rooms/gift shop to sell all my spoils and fund the running of the dogs

Mine would be to open a big dog & animal shelter, i'd ideally be loaded and pour money into making them heated and luxury and pay extra people to help walking them etc ?

That would be my making a difference job, otherwise I'd like to be a musician in a huge band haha.

My job was my dream job when I was younger. I do love it but I'd love it so much more without all the politics and bureaucracy. I had an interview last week for my dream position in my job and was offered the role so hopefully it will be what I expected and not a massive let down. Failing that my back up dream job is to be a dominatrix.

I do my dream job...I'm a fitness instructor & personal trainer & also do nails & beauty.

I used to think my dream job was working in drugs rehab & I did a psychology degree & got a really good job. I hated it though. I did really enjoy doing my degree though & would love to do another one, or mayber a masters. Maybe my dream job is being an eternal student Smiley smile
