debs1701, 29 August, 2008 at 00:33 Posted on Planning 0 71

My fiance is black so originally thought a nice black suit but then changed my mind to an ivory/cream suit (can't actually see one anywhere tho that I like yet) but then I got thinkin....................A fireman suit ?, hubba hubba!!!! phwoarh!, would need to take a change of knickers with me IYKWIM!! wink wink LOL...might get him a little dress up outfit for the wedding night! ?

Seriously though...going for a ivory/cream if I can find one ?, if not a fireman outfit will just have to do....shucks ?

Mine is in a kilt too! He is considering fake tan on his lilly white knees - his face and arms are quite tanned as he works outside but his legs never see day light!

My H just worse a standard morning suit, and in my opinion looked pretty dishy. I was quite dissapointed in the evening when we got to the hotel that he had to take it off to get in the jacuzzi - i think he should wear suits all the time

H2B will probably will wear a linen suit as it will be quite hot and humid in Tobago but I'll be looking for alternatives as I don't want H2B to get overly hot.

Mine looks really odd in suits, or anything smart for that matter! He wears overalls for work which I think he looks muchos sexy in!! I think my brain must be warped!

My h2b is making his own choices on this one. He does not want hat and tails, so is looking at the prince edward jacket.

I find it very strange that brides actually tell their h2b what to wear. I only know what tartan my h2b is wearing and I have based the wedding colours around him i.e. the bridesmaid dress has been choosen to co-ordinate with him. He won't let me go with him when he is choosing the rest of his outfit and wants it to be a surprise just like my dress is a surprise. I don't really like the idea of me telling him what to wear as it's his day just as much as it is mine so why shouldn't he have a say. I love the fact I will be looking forward to seeing him at the end of the aisle and not knowing what he is going to look like.

I've not told my OH what to wear, he's chosen it himself, personally I don't like the waistcoat but it's what he wants.

I went with him though as he wanted me to and it was sensible to stick in a certain colour range in order not to clash with the bridesmaids.

Kath you don't need to explain. My response wasn't aimed at you or anyone and was in response to the title of the thread 'what are you dressing your h2b in'. No bride would come on here and say 'this is what my h2b is dressing me in'.

I was explaining that I don't know what my h2b is wearing and the reasons behind it.

    ok....maybe I got a bit defensive ?. I think it's lovely that you don't know what he's wearing.

Aside from that - my H2B wouldn't let me decide what he's wearing ? -

Mine was going to buy a suit from asda, then his mum intervened and is having him one made, he`s going to be measured tomorow.

I chose the material, cos he asked me to and he`s not a bit interested!

OP (sorry, can't remember who started this thread), is your OH actually a fireman? Or are you planning on a fancy dress outfit?

My H2B wears a suit to work everyday so he has a better idea than me of what looks good ?

I've just shown him what colour is in mine and the bridesmaids dresses.

That being said if he turned up in a firemans outfit I wouldn't be complaining ?

My H2B is wearing this: -

He choose it - he's not Scottish (I am), he wanted to wear the kilt as he really liked it when he wore one to my sisters wedding.

I think he chose rather well! He picks it up on Wednesday and gets to waer it next Saturday!!

    Luv Victoria

    xx

Victoria I remember seeing this picture ages ago and showed it to my h2b and said I really like the thing over his shoulder as your h2b looked so smart and traditional. He laughed and said yes the plaid (or whatever it's called) and said he will also be wearing it which I was really happy about.

So apart from the tartan I know he is wearing the scarf over his shoulder! ?

My H wore a suit of his choosing. I didn't even see it until the wedding day.

I hate white/cream suits. Makes men look like pimps.

    Each to their own though

That might be preferable to looking like a stripper in a fireman's outfit though ?

    ?

The title of this thread does make me laugh. I'm trying to imagine what my H2B would say if I said - 'you are wearing this'. He would tell me to f**k off.

Nope, sorry I'm another one who is letting my grown up H2B choose what he wants and he has. I only know because he was so excited he couldn't keep it quiet. Its only a morning suit for gods sake!

Like others, my h2b will be making his own decision as to what to wear - i would not dream of telling him. he will be wearing a kilt as he is scottish, and has said that he thinks he would quite like to wear the grey spirit tartan, though that is all i know. it'll be the first time i've seen him in a kilt.

memedoaky, is that grey spirit tartan your h2b is wearing?

i have to hope that the OP is kidding when she mentioned a fireman's outfit...

My H choose his own suit - like Spring I didn't see him in it until the ceremony. It was a grey three piece suit with purple accessories.
