Soon to be Mrs W, 21 July, 2010 at 15:33 Posted on Planning 0 10

Im in the process of sorting out my flowers but when i get asked what my budget is, i dont really have a clue lol!

The flowers i need include:

1 x bridal bouquet

1 x bridesmaid

3 x ladies corsages

1 x grooms

4 x button holes

Then possibly 6 x goldfish bowls and something for the head table and cake table. Im thinking of tight bouquets with calla lillies, can anyone help me on prices?

I think it varies depending on your location (North/South) and who you see. I only wanted simple things but got quotes from over £1000 to just under £500.

I wasn't asked my budget - I just asked how much things costs.

My flowers cost around £180 for...

1 x Brides bouquet (gerberas, fressias and foliage)
2 x bridesmaid bouquest (gerberas and foliage)
    1 x groom buttonhole (1 gerbera & foliage)
8 x mens buttonholes (gerbera only)
5 x ladies coursages (2 gerberas and foliage)
10 x centrepieces (2 gerbera stems in bud vase)

Hi, you're having not wildly dissimilar to me (I had a few more table arrs but then skipped a couple of things too), and mine came to 445, of course it depends where you are in the country - I know some people's came to less.

    I would have thought - Bridal Bouquet - 80, BM - 40, corsages -10/10/10, Groom - 6, BHs 3/3/3/3

    Goldfish bowls - 20 each

Top Table - 50 (long and low)

Cake table - 30 (I'm not having anything on mine, but I'm presuming you'd want something smaller than the TT, I'm going to put my bouquet on there)

In fact that comes up as 368, so I'd say allow up to £500 for it and you should be fine, and will hopefully have something left over.

Putting your bouquet on the cake table is a great idea - never thought of that! That could save me a few pennies ?

A lot is dictated by the type of flower and the size of arrangements you want. Here is my florist's breakdown from memory - know the whole lot came to £230.

1 small handtied bouquet of red passion roses with diamante detail and outside foliage: £52

2 flowergirl posies of red passion and white akito roses: £25 each

    14 rose buttonholes: £3.50 each

    2 freesia corsages: £7.50 each

1 top table arrangement of red passion roses and a mix of white flowers (ie lilies etc) : £50

I agree you'll need to shop around, some florists I enquired with wanted astronomical amounts for the same flowers! x

In my experience of visiting 2 florists (ie not a lot) the moment you mention the word Calla lily the price goes up - expect to pay £3-£5 a stem for those.

Looking at my florist brochure I am looking £65-£85 for a boquet of roses (probably 18-24)

Around £50 for 12 roses for bridesmaids.

Corsages around £8-£10 but more for Calla

    Buttonholes around £3-£5

The register table - approx £40 for a display arrangement

Our florist gave us 3 large square vases to put on the top table to put our bouquets in. I hadn't planned to have anything different on the top table (was to have the same as everyone else) but meant that our lovely flowers got pride of place and could be seen.

pic 1 - bridesmaid's bouquet in vase | pic 2 - you should be able to make out the veases...

I will depend hugely on exactly what varieties of flower you want; I work with both fresh and artificial so if you want an idea of how each type might vary according to your scheme drop me a line at *******@***************.**.** and I can give you some more detail.
