HeidiHole, 12 October, 2008 at 15:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I was going to make a risotto, but Mr Hole just came downstairs and said "Did you say kebabs or risotto?" then burst out laughing, so I guess we'll have dutty kebabs later ?

We had roast leg of lamb for lunch. I roasted it on gas mark one for 18 hours and it melted in the mouth. It was wrapped in several layers of foil so cooked really slowly and steamed in it's own juices. Mr Tart has roast parsnips, roast spuds and yorkshires and I had peas, swede and carrots with mine. I LOVE slow cooked lamb!

We may have a small snack later but I am still stuffed 4 hours later.

It was so nice MH. I can't even remember where I got the recipe from. I sometimes add garlic and rosemary but did it plain this time. It's such a wonderful smell to wake up to on a sunday morning. It seriously did melt in the mouth.

It's so easy - add any flavourings, wrap and leave it in the oven for hours. Although when I got up to go to the loo at 3am, I did turn it and baste it slightly. In my half asleep state, I managed to burn my little finger but it was oh so worth it! You don't have to turn it though.

That's the sort of thing my husband comes out with.

We're having Pork Chops with Yorkshire Puddings ?. (and veg and potatoes of course).

TT, were you not permanently hungry from the smell?

Pizza is on the menu Chez Dooby tonight, i fancied roast chicken but Mr Dooby is suffering from the stomach bug that's been doing the rounds (i had it last weekend) so the chicken has been postponed.....hence a delve into the freezer has produced pizza.

I'm in my mate's and she has a terrible chest infection, so I 'm doing her a special 'tube clearing' chilli.

Heavy on the ginger and garlic... Also featuring my homegrown nagas... ?

    Kill or cure....

Mr MF cooked a lovely roast chicken, he and Ned are still eating in the kitchen, but I had to stop as I have some pain and I couldn't eat. Sitting upright at the table was exacerbating it too, so I am back on the sofa, listening to them chat (no idea what they are saying as it is Welsh) with Stevie Wonder on in the background! My dinner has turned into a swig or oramorph and a bottle of lucozade- Rock and Roll!

TT, I am going to try the lamb too, it sounds wonderful!

We're both quite hungover so it will be leftover rabbit pie tomorrow.

I've just finished my roast chicken dinner; roast chicken, roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, carrot, leeks, sweet potato mash, bread sauce and stuffing.

Yummy. Very very yummy - very very filling!
