what's rude about 'if you see Amy'?

monkey fingers, 4 February, 2009 at 21:29 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 19

In Heat Magazine's reviews this week, it says the following . . .

'Brit's [Britney Speares) in trouble again over some naughty lyrics, she had to rerecord If you see Amy (say it slowly- it's rude see?) as if you seek amy.

I have been saying 'If you see Amy' slowly but I can't work out why it is rude, can anyone explain?

Okay no clue but could 'see amy' if said oddly become 'semen-y'?

You probably have to say it with a random accent to make it work but I can't see what it could be. It will be obvious of course when someone comes along with the right answer

If you seek Amy was the original title, wasn't it? Which makes it a little clearer if you say it slowly.

I am so glad someone has asked this - I've said it slowly and am none the wiser ?

Basically if you say it in a slightly distorted way it could be interpreted as being 'I F U C K' spelt out. As in split I and F from if; you=u, see=C, then the Amy bit slurs into the end of C and picks up the A. Ignore the 'my' bit at the end of Amy.

A bit of a desperate attempt at doing something norty as a comeback.

Actually, the others are right, its F U C K me, rather than my cack-handed understanding.

Aahhh that makes a little more sense, I got my see and my seek mixed up, still not totally convinced it sounds rude, but I'll have to try and say it with a Britney type accent.

Thank you all (and I am pleased it wasn't just me confused)

"If you see Amy" doesn't quite get there, whereas "if you seek Amy" spells out "Fuck me" if you say it slowly.

    ? Light finally dawns!

It's a bit tortuous though - maybe it sounds much rooder when Britney is breathily singing it.

I've listened to it and my hearing must be going or my translation skills because all I can hear is "if you seek amy" and no swearing.

"All of the boys, and all of the girls, are begging to If You Seek Amy"

Doesn't make any sense unless it as meant as F-U-C-K Me.

So her excuse that she didn't realise is a big pile of poo ?

ps. that britneys excuse, not mrs jellybabys ?
